Due to the nature of the complaint, our compliance department has investigated your account. We would like to note that we are an administrator and we do not sell vehicle service contracts. However, we have contacted the Seller/Producer related to your account to obtain information related to this complaint. The Seller/Producer told DriveSmart that you took out coverage on 7/30/22 and never spoke with customer service until 8/4/22. After DriveSmart reached out to the Seller/Producer regarding your complaint, the Customer Service manager spoke with you, cancelled your policy, and refunded the $200 down deposit. The Seller/Producer told DriveSmart that you took out coverage on 8/1/22, and that you called the customer service department to cancel on 8/3/22. The customer service department gave you cancel instructions. We also never received any attempt at taking out a claim. The Seller/Producer said that your deposit will be refunded in 7 business days. Thank you for leaving a review regarding your experience with us at DriveSmart. We apologize if you feel as though your interactions with us were less than satisfactory. Due to the nature of the complaint, our compliance department has investigated your account. On 6/24/2022, a shop called on your behalf to file a claim on the vehicle you had enrolled with us. It was found that after receiving the preliminary invoice/diagnostic report, the mileage reported to us at enrollment and what was reported from the shop was not adding up. While this could be easily fixed with previous maintenance records, notes and calls show that you could not produce these. This led to a denied claim. Additionally, your account does not show as cancelled. Traditionally in order to cancel your account, you would need to follow the cancellation procedure in your policy handbook. In good faith, we will proceed to fully cancel your account, waiving the requirement of a letter.
