We are extremely frustrated with the response from DR Horton and their response with our issue. We were told that when we moved in the yard would be complete including sod and trees. We moved in April 1st with no sod. That was important to us as we have dogs and we wanted to make sure the yard was done. We had to put fake grass on the patio with a kennel around it for them to go outside. We were then told we would have the sod by the first of May. After we got the sod, we had to wait a couple of weeks to put our fence in so it could take root. As we watered the yard, we noticed a large area across the width of the yard had standing water, enough to go over the top of your shoes. This is an area of the yard width x6 ft across. We asked them to take a look at this as it didn't seem to be draining properly. They looked and said it was ok and normal. After another week, we still had this mess and the dogs would never be able to use the yard because it would turn into a muddy mess in short order. We contacted them again and a new guy came to look at it and said they needed to put a drain in because it wasn't done properly. We were finally getting somewhere, we thought. A week goes by again and we're still sitting in water. Or next step is going to be a lawyer because DR Horton doesn't seem to want to help us. They got their money and are done with us. And btw, the trees they put in, one was put in very crooked and the other was put in dead. Second week of June, dogs still using the temporary kennel! 😡😡 Not happy in the least!!

Two different friends of mine purchased Townhomes in Venetian Bay. I was in the process but after hearing and seeing their complaints I decided not to. First point DO NOT LET THEM PUSH CLOSING until house is 100%. Both friends have multiple cosmetic issues. Talking to building manager a total joke once you close. No response to repair issues at all.

Bought a DR. Horton home and was appalled at the stuff you didn’t get that should have been standard like towel racks, toilet tissue holders etc… Then you get cabinets with dummy drawers and only two you can use and they are small. It was heartbreaking the money you spend on purchasing the home then the money you have to spend to make it functional for everyday living. I had more and much better amenities in the apartment I was renting. Don’t buy unless you got money to invest and don’t trust your realtor to be your eyes and ears…

I bought a D.R. Horton home in 2020. In 2023 that underground waterline malfunctioned. Due to the extent of how much water I was losing I had plumber come out too access and repair the issue. I was informed that a shark bite fitting not certified for underground use was the cause. When I informed D.R. Horton, the told me screw me because they weren't allowed to access the issue. Do NOT BUY a home from this company as they'll stand behind a technicality to keep from doing what's right. It's not like I dug up the ground and put the illegal fitting on the waterline. Please find a more ethical and quality builder for your home.

Horrible builds, and the representatives that speak for Dr. Horton are just as bad as the quality of the homes. Their garbage, low intelligent, subpar builds are backed by a phrase we hear all too often now; "Each house is unique and built by someone by hand". That doesn't mean it has to be cheap and look like a blind person put all the pieces together. I would never recommend DR. Horton homes to another person ever in my lifetime.

Please do not buy Dr.Horton home, we brought house on Richmond Texas, we had a horrible experience. This builders using cheap quality materials less than a year we have multiple cracks in our home and they fix it because under our warranty period after that again our rooms has cracks m. You are spending more than $350,000 and no value for this houses. Please stay away from them and look for the another builder.

Purchased a home in the Villages of Pike Road- in Pike Road, Alabama. They were crooks from the Sales department to closing. The homes are dollhouse cute, but are cheap quality. I wouldn’t recommend this company. The plumbing is extremely loud and there is absolutely no insulation or padding to prevent sound. This makes it unbearable to sleep when someone upstairs flushes a toilet, shower, or wash their hands. The management team are a bunch of liars. Don’t overlook red flags. Especially being a minority

DR Horton is truly awful. From the build process quality through the warranty process which is non-existent once you've move in. Some specific examples such as leaky roofs, insufficient structure support, plumbing leaks, floors warping, severe drainage issues and other items to lack of responsibility and communication for fixing their own idiotic widget making approach to home building. If you're thinking about a DR Horton home, look up reviews and better yet, look up litigation cases against the builder. If you look at the comments and history of DR Horton, you'll see that the majority of people are in alignment on just how bad DR Horton truly is. Don't make the mistake of thinking you'll be the one who won't have issues or that you'll prevent them from happening.
