DogVacay makes it easy to post your listing and become available to the community. I got bookings immediately. However, there are a couple of snags I would like to see worked on: 1) Dog sitters are not vetted before posting their info on site. You have to rely on the reviews. 2) Company charges $5 per check payment. The 15% charge should cover that. Also, if a client adds a day on to a reservation, that is treated as 2 bookings - and you are charged $5 for each check/booking. 3) Changing your availability is still a little cumbersome. I would like to be able to change the number of dogs I'll take on individual days.

DogVacay came along at a time when I was down and out and wasn't sure how I was going to earn an income. Not only have I built a successful boarding business because of them, I have found a niche for myself. They offer the best support, and the web page you get and the advertising is so great, I haven't had to do any of that stuff. It isn't easy dealing with so many dog personalities sometimes, and there have been times I've felt burnt out. But the control we have over our own schedules and rates make it easy to take a break when I want. I had been injured one two occasions by two different dog guests and DogVacay's concern, support and help through it all was above and beyond. I have and will continue to recommend this company to others who are dog lovers looking for an additional income, as well as recommend their services to those looking to board their pups, whether it be with me or any of the other hosts. I love DogVacay!!

I’ve really enjoyed working with DV the last 2.5 years. First of all, what a great idea! But the company, itself, has terrific customer service and is always very responsive to any question or concern I’ve had – responding in both a complete and timely manner. In addition, payment is prompt and efficient. The best, of course, is hanging out with, playing with, and simply petting and caring for so many different kinds of dogs – all with their unique personalities and quirks – such sweet beasts! And dogpeople are surely among the best people in the world.

I have dog sat for family, friends and neighbors for years. I never thought of it as a business until I heard about Dogvacay! It's a wonderful way to bring family pets and pet sitters together. I have control over my availability, which breeds and how many furry friends I'm comfortable hosting! I can even set my own prices. The biggest plus about working with Dogvacay is that you aren't in it alone. You always have help to reach out to should a concern or issue arise. I often have to call for guidance and I'm always pleased with the response. It's also a big positive knowing there is insurance coverage incase something should go wrong. My experience as a host so far has been wonderful. I have met many families, made friends, fell in love with many furry pets and have earned a lot of much needed income.
