This site is very handy. We found the BEST pet/house sitter on this site and couldn't be happier. There are serious programming issues with the App that should be addressed, but the site itself (when accessed via computer, not phone) is great.

I have met a few really great dog sitters on here. That said, I had to weed to through a few undesirable ones, as well. Because Dogvacay does not vet the sitters, It is imperative that you visit each sitter's location and interview them thoroughly. Make you decision based on your comfort level and your pet's reaction. Anyone can hang out a shingle.

DogVacay is a great way to have your dogs cared for instead of kenneling them. Our dogs aren't used to being caged so having a caregiver coming to our house to feed them and love them made our time away and theirs more enjoyable. First time user of DogVacay, I definitely recommend dog Vacay. I have found this to be much easier than conventional dog boarding companies, which puts me and my dogs at a much more relaxed state.

My first experience with DogVacay was not so great, not due to any fault of the website. The sitter did not seem very experienced with dogs and I had to leave in the middle of my mini vacation weekend to come pick up my dog and scramble to make other arrangements which ended up costing much more. However, my second experience was with a much better sitter and I thought it was great.

There are great dog sitters in this company. I have only had one bad experience with a sitter. Unfortunately they have their sitters pay for insurance that is supposed to cover medical expenses for dogs if they are injured during a stay. When my dog was injured, they did not cover anything. Overall, the sitters they employ are great, but -do not- rely on their insurance.
