Incompetent Customer Services - Couldn't help me find missing parcel then cut me off!
Well. I'm shocked. Asda being such a large respected brand name, you would think they would invest in some decent quality customer service staff. Not so. I ordered a dolls house for my Daughter, and received a text message and email to say it would be delivered via Hermes on 16/09/2014. They couldn't give a time so I waited in all day from 7am - 7pm. All day I checked the hermes website for an update when suddenly at 3pm I checked it and it said "Courier to re-attempt". I checked Asda Direct to find the order status as "Delivered". Angry (as I KNOW no-one came) I called the Customer Services number on the email. When I explained, the representative just kept repeating what i had told him without actually offering any help. All he could tell me was that I would need to wait in the following day (again all day) as the courier will 'probably' deliver it then. When I explained that I had taken a day off work and couldn't possibly wait in for another full day, he said "theres nothing I can do about that". VERY HELPFUL! I asked if he could contact Hermes/the courier to check what was going on, as I know for a fact that no delivery was attempted. I can see my front door from the sitting room where I work, plus we have a noisy garden gate, and I received no card through the door. He said "OK, rem, can you confirm your address, and while I was doing that the line went dead. I had been hung up on. Im disgusted. Hermes are partly responsible I'm sure, but why do Asda give a Customer Services number to "contact with any queries about your order" when the person you get through to can't help??
