Great Experience and was very impressed with her ideas!!!

I would NOT recommend this company. While I think the product they sell is of good quality and the installers are good, the customer service is so incredibly AWFUL I recommend you save yourself the hassle and aggravation and DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I am so disappointed that we chose this company over some of the other options we had available to us. We spent over $12,000 and can not even get them to get back with us. We ordered extra shelves and had to wait weeks to receive them even though they immediately charged us. Then when they finally came they were the wrong shelves and we are now still waiting 2 weeks later and have tried contacting them by phone and email and get NO response. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received and I have had some awful customer service these days. I’m sick that we chose this company. I didn’t research them enough because I see now through other reviews that this is their norm. Cummings, Clarksville, TN

Closet By Design is by far one of the “worst” design companies that I have ever experienced. Closet by design installed my Walk-In Closet on June 15, 2026, and they did a “horrible” job! I would have done better hiring my 7 year old Grandson to design and install my closet!! Your so called custom closet doesn’t accommodate not even have of my things. Your so called custom closet was screwed up royally and if I had a worse enemy, I wouldn’t recommend Closet by design aka Closet World. You guys really need to go out of business, unless you hire some professional, knowledgeable, and competent designers. Also, the material that you used to install my closet with has a very “bad” odor and it makes me want to puke!!! I also spoke with Closet By Designs Supervisor name Paul, along with the District Manager name Jose B. Hernandez and neither of them were supportive towards me and weren’t willing to issue me a refund of my $1495.00 deposit. After Closet by designs designer name Terrill came out, looked at my Walk-In closet, and attempted to provide me with a design for my Walk-In Closet, I knew initially after I had given him my hard work earned money as a deposit, I knew that his screwed up design wouldn’t workout for me, Lastly, it was a very bad decision on my part, to go along with that con Man. And habitual liar Designer name Terrill. I didn’t receive anything that Terrill said that I would receive in regards to his design. Now, I am going to have to have this crap ripped out and start over fresh with California Closet!! So, in all actuality, I just gave a donation of $2,990.00 for a Closet that won’t accommodate me or any of my things!! Whom ever reads this review, and try’s to get someone from Closet By Design to design anything, run, run, run in the opposite direction. Angrily yours

This company may produce good products, but their customer service is horrible. I originally scheduled my closet installation for yesterday, but my mother died. Because I had to go out of state to my mother‘s funeral, they are charging me $250 to reschedule because “they work with an external installation company.” This is heartless. I will not work with them again, and will spread the word about the experience I have had.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Closets by Design Charlotte. Our closet was installed last Friday 6/12, and while the overall closet looks nice, the installation was not completed as requested. The installers did not add the trim we had specifically asked for when we originally placed the order, and the cutout around our light switch was done poorly and looks unfinished. Robin, who took over after our original design consultant Gracen was no longer with the company, reached out to me on Monday 6/15 to ask how the installation went. I responded and shared my concerns, but received no reply. I followed up again on Tuesday morning 6/16 and Robin said she would call me that afternoon after her appointments. It is now Thursday 6/18 and I still have not heard from anyone. When I was told Gracen was no longer with the company, this was exactly what I was worried about — that we would become an afterthought once our project was handed off. Unfortunately, that is exactly how this feels. Now that the closet has been installed, it seems like the company is done dealing with us. This closet was a significant investment, and I expected much better attention to detail and customer service. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of follow-up and communication is unacceptable. I hope Closets by Design Charlotte will make this right, but at this point, I am very disappointed in the overall experience.

I absolutely hate my closet is not what I requested, I don’t know measurements so I signed off on the design there’s so much wasted space in the closet. I’ve talked to Dan the manger about three times also the designer that was in my home. I keep being told someone will call me and they don’t. I’m being tons that if I want anything changed I need to pay. They just keep telling me I signed off on it… the strategy is to charge the full amount before the installer arrives so that way you don’t have a way out. I returned to them because I loved my previous closet and expected the same this time. They simply do not care and have been mocking me. It’s very sad because I’ve recommended them to friends that have gotten their closet done. Now they are simply ignoring me. Even more sad that I keep telling them I am a returning customer and Dan said I wasn’t in the system asking me if I had my previous closet done in another state… I pulled out my old receipt and gave him the order number… o sympathy whatsoever and no resolution other than I’m stuck with something I absolutely hate. Don’t do it!!! Don’t get trapped like I was. I hate this closet it does not fit for me at all my clothes and shoes do not fit and the saddest part is that my current closet is bigger than the previous one! The saddest part is that this happened on my birthday!

Takako was a pleasure to have in our home to explain the CBD process and to help us to understand our choices for optimizing the space in our sizable and brand new walk in closet. We also plan to have her help us to overhaul our old garage that is no longer used (we have built a new one as part of an addition). Takako was thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and most importantly considerate of our needs. She was tremendous and has a genuine zeal for helping people make the most of their home.

Satisfied with the product, however dissatisfied with the mess the installers left for me to cleanup. After a they left, I went into the closet to clean the floor. I couldn’t believe what I found. After lifting up the bottom shelves I discovered the installers failed to clean the entire floor. They simply covered up their mess instead. Furthermore, I would expect installers to fill the holes they created from removing the metal shelving. Nope, I ended up having to fill 11 hole; some that were the size of a thumbnail. Would not use them again or recommend. Figures why they did not do a customer satisfaction follow-up call or email.
