Was going to take out insurance with cigna but after 1hr and 11mins on hold to get a quote I gave up, then I looked at the reviews.... Probably should have looked at the reviews first!!! Not sure what their insurance is like hence I gave 2 stars

I am trying to get through to sort out back pain I’ve had for 2 weeks now, have tried on multiple occasions and waited for over an hour and gave up. I thought I’d stick it out and wait till I finally speak to someone, I’ve now been on hold over 2 hours!!!! Does anyone work at this place, how am I supposed to get this sorted if No one ever answers. If you can’t deal with the customers then close your doors!! Otherwise do what everyone else does and hire more people !!!

I was on Cigna for 8 years, and never had issues. I had some medical necessary medication which I needed to keep name brand as the generic was not good. I never had issues with Cigna paying for the name brand with me paying a small amount of copay. I gave four stars as the HSA card had issues with Cigna sending letters that I needed to send a check and pay for what I bought. Took a lot of back and fourth for Cigna to realize I used the HSA card on Claritin which is an allowed purchase. Half the time no letters half time they send letters. Cigna really needs to work out the HSA purchase allowed list. Stop sending letters stating abuse of card use. Not like I bought an Airline ticket with the HSA card for a vacation. The receipt shows Walmart purchase Claritin. Sadly, my job changed and so did Insurance.

‘Truly horrendous hold times’. I have tried to contact Cigna three times this week. 1 hour 50 minutes on hold on the first attempted call, my telephone battery died before I could speak to anyone. A second call that evening of approximately 40 minutes and received voice message stating they had closed. I managed to contact them for the first time this morning after a 40 minute hold time. (Member of staff was indeed helpful). On hold ‘now’ trying to obtain an authorisation. 1hour 59 minutes, still holding . It’s unfortunate as the disproportionate hold times cause unnecessary stress at a time, when a person is already experiencing in some instances, considerable worry about their health. Any how, still on ‘hold’ another hour until they close ‘fingers crossed’🤞 they will answer within the next hour. 🥲

Filed a claim on 14 May 2021 (nearly 4 weeks ago) and not one thing has been done. I was told it takes 10 days to process a claim in order to schedule oral surgery. I've sent emails, made several phone calls, filled out and filed claims, sent dental x-rays and ended up doing the job Cigna should have done. I need $35000 worth of surgery, so if I don't matter as a customer, no one matters. Customer rep. told me they made a phone call to the dental office in the past month, but it was on the one day they were closed. I am thoroughly disappointed in their service, it doesn't exist.

I WISH I CAN GIVE THEM ZERO STARS! The worst health provider that I have ever come across in my 25 years of having private health via an employer. My employer pays Cigna £1000's for our "comprehensive cover" - which is nothing but a total Joke - so be warned corporate customers Submitted a dental claim for £1000; the total cost was £3495 which included all adjustments over a period of 12-18 months. I have paid the £3495 to the orthodontist and submitted a claim for the £1000 which is Cigna's limit. Four months on and I am still chasing the claim team. Spent hours and hours on the phone, been disconnected many times, transferred and then disconnected many times. Sent them the receipt, treatment breakdown and letters from the Orthodontist stating that all treatments have been paid for - still keep getting the same old questions again and again, making excuses not to pay! I filed a complaint with Cigna - only for them to close my complaint without even reaching a conclusion! Another instance was when my wife required a C-section due to previous complications. The provider refused us to see the midwife because Cigna has a very bad record for not paying the hospitals. We had two providers say the same to us - and despite going to an APPROVED provider the experience was daunting and I had to get my employer involved - who then had to get the broker involved to ensure we were fully covered. The treatment was in February and we are now in June and still no settlement for my claim. Please please do not go with these cowboys because that is exactly what they are! Called again this morning and after waiting 1 hour and 10 mins on the call - no answer! - I disconnected the call! Informed my employer again and sent the link to this site so that they can see all the people's reviews and the pain that you have to go through to get paid! I have had BUPA, AXA, WPA and Vitality - none of them were anywhere near as bad as these lot, they take your money and dont pay so please be warned and warn others too. I am now considering legal action if the employer route does not prevail anything out of this pathetic company!

Cigna have offered some of the worst customer service that I have ever encountered in my life and twice have left me uncovered at the peak of the Indian COVID crisis due to administrative incompetence. I suggest you use a different supplier, as you need a reliable and responsive organisation when it comes to medical coverage. 30/5 - An update on this, after contacting me to say they couldn't process my payment on 26/05, (despite there being significant funds in my account) and telling me for the second time in 2 months that I'd be uncovered at the peak of the COVID pandemic here in India, I told them to cancel my policy and refrain from debiting me. After 2 days (28/05) they acknowledged me. Today (30/05) I have logged in to see that they have now debited me in full, despite my stated intention to move to a different provider. SERIOUSLY - STAY AWAY FROM CIGNA!!!
