My partner is going to be kicked out the country because Cigna can't deliver a legal document for repatriation. If you can't get a simple legal document signed, how would you get help in time of need. During 15 years of travel, this is the worst service I have ever been met by. I you like talking to answeringmachines, getting put on hold for hours or waiting for calls that never come, this might be for you. Paying cigna for insurance is like having no insurance at all.

I've nothing but bad experiences with Cigna. Over the past summer, I tore the meniscus in my knee, and my knee locked up. My primary care Physician ordered an MRI, but Cigna would not approve it because first I had to take an Xray and then go with 8 weeks of therapy before they would approve the MRI. I ended up paying the MRI out of pocket, and had surgery to correct the issue. They approved the surgery, but not the MRI even though the call for an MRI was correct. Recently I had some dental work done at a practice that their own websites touts as "in -network" - then I get a bill because the work was done by an out-of-network provider. When I call them to find out why, they tell me that the doctor who performed the procedure was ou-of-network, even though the practice where he works is in-network. All you ever get with CIGNA is RUN-AROUND, and there are not enough hours in the day to fight them. THEY ARE THE WORST HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY - and it's not even close !

Go smash your face into a wall for an hour, multiple times for the next six weeks. That'll be more productive and less frustrating than dealing with Cigna customer service. I cannot stress how awful they are. Employees don't understand English. You repeat exact dates, prices, issues over and over again via chat or phone. Chat they could simply scroll up and see your answer if they don't remember...They put you on 30+ minutes holds only to come back and tell you the same issue you were calling about. They are beyond incompetent and rude. And they've clearly outsourced to another country ALL hours of the day. I think this is intentional to give poor service and keep our money. I've had to escalate to my human respurce benefits team because this has been going on over a month. I'm without my meds now and suffering. I hope my company provides an alternative for health insurance because I will not go through this again. I hope they get the entire company away from these soul sucking leeches. The HR team is receiving the same hoops to jump through that I did. Telling me to do things I've already done. I have completed anything they requested of me and it's been a wild goose chase. Literally just making me waste my time and effort. With absolutely no resolution or help. I'd rather pick every piece of my flesh off of my body in microscopic pieces until there wasn't any left than ever deal with Cigna again. NEVER contact email addresses or click on anything that is sent to you unless you contact the business DIRECTLY to verify it is from them. Absolutely under NO circumstances are you to provide any of your personal information, policy numbers, addresses, ETC. Fraud is on the same skyrocketing track that inflation is. Please be careful!*** Side note: I’d say no self respecting company would put “u” instead of “you”, but we all know Cigna wouldn’t qualify for that.

Contraté el seguro para toda la familia porque se oía que eran buenos, y es con diferencia la peor experiencia que he tenido con un seguro de salud. Dos usos, dos decepciones. Ojo no disponen de acuerdos con hm hospitales para consulta telefonica, con lo cual para unos simples resultados te obligan a ir presencialmente. Ojo con las prescripciones de fisioterapia, si por cualquier caso tardas algo mas de un mes en gestionar la autorización aunque en el centro no tengan disponibilidad hasta mes y medio después... No te lo aprueban excusandose en que ellos promueven la atención temprana ya que si no has ido el problema puede haberse agravado y la fisioterapia puede ser perjudicial... Sin embargo no es perjudicial para el asegurado esperar otro mes a una nueva cita en el traumatologo y otro tanto a disponibilidad del centro rehabilitador. Total de espera para unas sesiones de fisioterapia de una rodilla 5meses. Daré de baja a todos los miembros. NO LO CONTRATEIS! Cigna opiniones... Y eso por no hablar de la experiencia digital que parece una compañía de hace 50 años.

There was no option for ZERO stars so it's a 1-star. Cigna (AKA: New York Life) is the long term disability insurer of my policy. After being on short-term disability for 6 months with my company, I could still no longer work. When it was time to transition to long-term disability, even though Cigna had all of my medical records, they denied my claim. I have been told by others that it is normal for these insurance companies to automatically deny claims in hopes that the individual will just give up and not fight for what is owed to them through paying monthly premiums for several years. The stress was overwhelming. I could no longer work and was now facing a zero income outlook. That is when I hired an attorney and they immediately removed much of the stress that I was feeling. They had experience with many cases against Cigna. My attorney won my case against Cigna (New York Life) and now they are legally bound to pay my benefits. I feel that the laws regarding claims such as this should be changed in a way that the insurance companies are held criminally accountable when found that they violated the law by not paying legit claims on the policies that they provided to their clients. Cigna sold their life and disability insurance to New York Life for 6.3 BILLION DOLLARS. The insurance industry is a monster that swindles billions from their clients (in my opinion). SHAME ON YOU CIGNA! BTW: Cigna replied to this review so I returned an email to them and they have totally ignored me with no responses! EMPOYEES BEWARE: I did not know at the time that I took this insurance through my employer but if one gets approved for social security disability, Cigna (New York Life) deducts the social security amount from what they have to pay you. My policy was supposed to protect me with 60% of my salary, but after social security it is 20%. My attorney stated that it is better to take a disability policy through a company such as one of the the highest rated companies listed on this site vs a group policy through your employer. The premiums may be higher, but you shouldn't find yourself in my situation. Feb 2023 Update: New York Life has now told me that they need the past year's medical records and proof that I am still disabled. I have already proven my permanent disability to them. The Social Security Administration has agreed and placed me on disability. This has now become harassment from New York Life and told my attorney. I hope that my review may help others.

I have been looking for a physician for 4 months because the one I have is not in my network. I had a routine physical months ago and because it wasn't in my network I'm stuck paying a large bill. My mammogram was not covered as well as a flu shot. Still cannot find a doctor near me that accepts Cigna. I'm beyond exasperated with the company.
