Choice HotelsReviews of choicehotels.com

We stayed in the Viking hotel Blackpool which is run by choice hotels, we have no faults what’s so ever everything was amazing. The food was fantastic staff were friendly and welcoming and the rooms were spotless definitely be staying again!! 5 stars

I was lied to on the phone and when I called back and emailed got hung up on once and ignored by email. Extremely unhelpful after waiting 30 min hold again. Never deal with them. They are useless and a major waste of your time.

Stayed at comfort inn in Marion, NC. Hotel was nice, they put us in a spacious suite. Our only complaint was they were working on tearing out the laundry room , and the smell from the drains was really gross. Our room was right next to this and we'd already unpacked and showered when we realized the smell was so bad. We complained to the front desk and they gave us some room air freshener. Other than that the desk employees were very nice and the hotel was nice and in a great location.

Consumer Warning. Over the weekend I was double charged for scheduling a hotel online. The company was impossible to deal with. This is the second time in a row that this has happened and the company refused to deal with it. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, they told me they would put me on a two hour hold if I wanted a supervisor. They refused to resolve the issue and told me I had to go through my bank to block the charge. I will certainly do that and I will also stop using Choice Hotels. Thank you very much for two frustrating experiences.

I try not to ever write negative reviews, but on this occasion I want to warn single female travellers to Rodeway Inn San Diego - a Choice Hotels hotel. On arrival to this hotel (which is quite far away from downtown), I was struck but how many occupied cars there were in the back parking lot. On further inspection, I clocked on that there were people sat in their cars taking drugs. After checking in, I found my room spacious but was worried about it being at the back. And boy I was right to be worried! Firstly, the room was dirty. Hairs in the bath, dark pieces of ~who knows what~ on the inside of the toilet and white towels with marks on them (albeit they did smell clean). On my first night of staying, I drove over to Walmart to get some amenities. Upon return, I found more cars blaring music and smoking in the car park. Some of the occupants jeered at me as I tried to hurry into my room. Once at my door, I realised my room had been entered. My passport and some money was missing. I went to the receptionist and he refused to call the police (he didn’t speak English too well). He also told me my room had no CCTV. I called the cops and they came out and helped me. I had to move hotels and pay extortionate last minute prices, but at least I was safe downtown. I had to drive backwards and forwards from the British embassy in LA, which meant three days of my vacation were lost. To top it all off, when I asked for a refund from the hotel they were rude and unhelpful - even Choice Hotels didn’t help. I lost my money I had spent on this hotel, as well as my precious passport. Beware of this hotel.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked using Expedia and got notified of a $60 price cut. Expedia called the Choice Hotel to allow me to cancel and re-book in real time with them on the phone. Mike, the lead clerk in front desk, refused. He said he would allow the cancellation only if I re-booked a different day. He seemed untrustworthy especially when I asked how will I know you will actually comply since I have to book again before he would cancel. He goes, "I guess you will just have to trust me. Haha." Like I am going to trust him after talking like that to me. Anyway, I only had this one day plus why did it matter. It is supposed to rain anyway so no one will be there probably. Expedia then asked to speak to General Manager but Mike said the General Manager would say NO! Now, I am going to this hotel tomorrow knowing that I am overpaying by $60. Think I am going to enjoy myself now. NO. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER CHOICE HOTEL AGAIN! I called Choice Hotels' corporate office and they sided with the hotel stating the hotel can do what they want. My business goes to companies that value the customer. Since this one proved not to give a crap about the customer but only their own pockets, I have learned NEVER to do business with them again and hopefully this review will save you the heartache I feel right now.

I travel a lot for work and use several hotel chains. I am the top tier at Choice and Marriot, lower tier at two others. Their points redemption is the best. They often have hotels in very remote places and compared to some other chains you need less points for a free night. You need to check the hotel out ahead of time I have stayed at a few dumps but the comfort inns are pretty good.

Very poor customer service for a "corporate" company responsible for many hotel franchises. Unsatisfactory resolution by Choice corporate to the bedbug issue with their Clarion Inn and Suites Northwest in Indianapolis, IN. Now they (Choice Hotels) refuse to even respond to my communications.
