I am a former customer of this cruise…
I am a former customer of this cruise line, of which is a new development. It is with great disappointment that I write this in regards to a Carnival Imagination cruise I was restricted from boarding. A week prior to the day of departure I contacted a rep with my questions in order to prepare for my trip with my fiance. I was then informed that I would need only my driver's license to board the ship. We booked a flight to California from Arizona the day of boarding. We arrived, excited and on time, only to be left with the utmost disappointment. As it turns out, contrary to what we were previously told by this company's representative, we needed more than our driver's licenses. We were rejected from boarding the ship because I did not have my passport. Being a satisfied customer for over 2 years, I contacted customer service immediately for a resolution. It was then I was told my previous records had been found. With my hopes high, the representative told me the gentleman who had previously declined my boarding would permit my entry after providing him with my previous records. Despite my excitement, I was then rejected another time. My round trip airline ticket was set to send me and my fiance back home 4 days later from this date. We were stranded with nowhere to go. I then had to spend money out of my pocket to survive the next four days. Even more upsetting, I am also out money I provided the company for a cruise I was not even able to enjoy, at no fault of my own. I have always recommended this company to family and friends, but now I am questioning the ethics of this business. Is there any kind of assistance or compensation that may be provided to me for these troubles, it would be greatly appreciated. However, they have failed to provide me any resolution, correspondence or even an apology for my troubles after sending them a personal email in this regard.
