I booked a 4-day family cruise with Carnival for my birthday; unfortunately, a week before the trip, my husband suffered a major heart attack and we were unable to travel. Since I was paid in full and the cruise date was so close, they refused to refund me my money. They would not even consider giving me a credit to use the cruise in the future! Disgusting customer service. Buyer beware! Book using a credit card that will insure your purchases!

I was attempting to purchase my drinks…
I was attempting to purchase my drinks package but because I live in Ireland their system couldn't process my card. 4 hours later with a huge cost for my phone bill, they are useless. Now the prices have increased and they told me there is nothing they can do. They don't care. I wouldn't advise going with this cruise line as you will get no support and to be honest it's tainted the holiday as it's been such an ordeal.

The ship's condition (Magic) was a disaster
The ship's condition (Magic) was disgusting. Dirty.
7am wake ups from the ship's entertainment director isn't necessary to tell us how happy he is to get us another great day on the sea where they can charge us $14 for a drink and charge us 3% for us to access our money to gamble away at their casino. Duh?
No problem hearing over the PA system that Mr & Mrs ABC want to meet their friends at the XYZ, but when I was concerned about my wife because I could not find her after searching the entire 10th, 11th and 12the floors, their "Security" people wouldn't make an announcement on the PA system until a threw a fit about their attitude.
Imagine inf you will, a cabin so small that in order to access one side of the bed, my 73 year old wife had to climb onto the bed and roll around until she could get to her side. Really?
The swimming pool was ice cold for half the trip through the Caribbean, and the hot tub forgot to get HOT.
It used to be our favorite Cruise Line. But then money became more important for them than the people. Now we won't get on their ship again.

BEWARE when booking a Carnival Cruise
BEWARE when booking a Carnival Cruise. A cruise was booked in March 2024 for my children. When booking, they advertise “vacation protection” which is more of a scam. A deposit was made and “Faster to the Fun” was purchased. Later, and without notification, Carnival cancelled the cruise without any notification whatsoever. I was specifically told by a customer service representative of Carnival to file a claim because the cabin I reserved was now taken. I filed a claim and was denied. Carnival refuses to accept responsibility. Carnival then charged double to renew my cruise. Their business practice is fraudulent. If you’re looking to go on a vacation where you don’t have to worry about financial loss or the rug being taken from under you, choose another cruise line. You can rest easy and will be grateful you did.

One of the worst decisions of my life to book a Carnival Cruise
Originally, we have booked a cruise at MSC. This cruise has been cancelled on short notice because of Hurricane Milton. We checked an alternative that we found at Carnival. Everything looked perfect, the lady at the booking hotline was friendly.
The next day, the cruise got shortened one day because of Milton. The lady on the phone promised us to get a refund for one day plus 100 USD onboard credit or a full refund if we cancel. We went for the first option, so it was only a three day cruise.
The first day started at 5 pm (so not really a full day). We were on hold for two hours at the check inn. On board it was so far so good, nice food, some entertainment, a casino...
The next day we arrived at the Grand Bahamas where we spent the whole day, we were back at the ship at 5 pm. The next shock: Carnival has deducted more than 30 USD tip per person without asking. Incredible!
The next day up from 7 we were asked to finish and leave the ship. Not a full day as well.
Back home I waited for the credit of one day. After several calls, the lady on the phone wanted to tell me that I will not get it because I booked one day too early and the credit would not be applicable for me although the lady in the first call when it was about to decide to sail or not ensured me to get the credit.
I feel cheated and if I don't get it, I will never book with Carnival again.
Don't book here, go to cheaper, more serious competitors that don't rip you off!

Took a cruise to Nassau on the Carnival…
Took a cruise to Nassau on the Carnival Sunshine.
This was our 3 rd cruise on this ship because it is the only one that leaves directly from Charleston.
We could not port in Nassau due to weather and the only accommodation we received was a measly $100 room credit.
While we understand we could not port due to weather we simply did not receive the full value we paid for.
When we filed a complaint all we got was a sorry but not sorry we are keeping your money.
Every time we have sailed on this particular ship the windows are filthy and the food keeps getting worse.
This trip there was only one main show on the last night. The other nights were simply game shows.
Horrible experience

Impossible to contact, wont release funds
Like many others, I've been waiting four weeks for the release of my pending funds. The full payment was taken from my account the day after disembarkation, yet the same amount is still held as pending. Carnival claims that the bank needs to release it, while the bank says they can't do so without approval from Carnival. I've sent two emails, with only an automated reply to the second one, promising a response within five days. No response. I reached out via Facebook, and they said email replies can take up to 45 days!! Pathetic and terrible customer service.

Highly Recommend NOT TO USE
I have used Carnival cruises a few times, but the last cruise with them is the very LAST. Customer Services very poor, pools too small. Allowed children in all pools and no pool attendants, including adult only pool, which had children in too. Food not to cruise expectations too. We have complained too about their medical services, clearly trying to rip customers off!. Highly recommend not to use them. Better to pay extra for a cruiseline who provide a better service throughout.
