I was given Mary Ann Pickell’s business card from my moms geriatric doctor and was told to call. Mary Ann was wonderful from the first conversation. She was an excellent navigator of the myriad of nursing homes and was spot on with what my mom needed in a nursing home. I quite frankly was numb and out of my mind with anxiety and worry. There’s absolutely no way I would have been able to accomplish anything without her guidance. She had all the answers I needed regarding EVERY question/problem/hurdle that presented itself, and they presented themselves every few hours! The network of women out there working to ensure the safety and well-being of our elderly is a blessing. It truly does take a village. These women are the best of the best. Contacting Care Patrol when a loved one is diagnosed with the horrible disease of dementia will save you hours of unnecessary wasted time in order to get your loved one into a safe environment as quickly as possible.

It’s been a pleasure working with Shawn Barnes. He found my mother an Independent Living apartment where I think she will be very happy. My mother is having to leave her home in another state following the death of her husband, my father, to be close to me so that I can assist her when needed. Each time we visited he was right there along with us, answering any questions we had. He has been very patient and showed such compassion to my mother, who has had a difficult time making a decision. Shawn didn’t pressure her and gave her time to make a difficult, life-changing decision in her own time. If there is ever a time in your life when you need an angel to show up, it is at the time when you've been told your mother is leaving soon. Kari picked us off the floor and found the perfect home for our mom. Kind, loving and compassionate are only a few words that describe the wonderful setting that Kari showed us.
