I was told that I could not send my husband to Brightview Mays Chapel--that they wouldn't have space for 6 months. He was then sent to the Maples * 8 days* where he was abused and is now transferring to Brightview Mays Chapel. He could have gone to Brightview Mays Chapel to start off with. I was jerked around on this and I believe intentionally given misinformation so that the Care Patrol could receive a higher commission by referring to either of the Towson locations.

Jen Gomer was young and very unprofessional especially with answering telephone calls and communication. Additionally, she placed my mom in memory care without having ever even met my mom or having a PCP evaluation. Jen recommended to place my mom at The Carillion which turned out to be a inappropriate placement for my mother. She listened to my sister who lives 7000 miles away and not to the daughter who lives in Denver. The Carillon was an awful placement that only lasted one week!! It was one of the worst experiences of our lives.

While the women I worked with were very nice, I feel I did 90% of the legwork and they came along for the ride. At one point they asked what care providers I was looking at and then they just made a list from my list and called them for me. Probably 30 minutes worth of work. I was shocked to hear CarePatrol gets paid my first month's rent for their involvement. Almost criminal. They should get $100 - not $6000.

CarePatrol and Alabama Dept of Human Resources did not perform proper due diligence to contact all the core caretakers for my elder mother, prior to them removing her from a home and transferring her to a different state. Both of those entities should have worked better together as a team on my mom's behalf. My mom's core caretakers never received contact from any social services until a text was sent the day they had already moved her out of state. That text was from CarePatrol, and only topic was to ask for money. For many weeks both entities had my phone number, and number for my mom's other core caretaker, yet they both entities chose not to send any text until the day they already move her? The CarePatrol person on this case was indeed very pleasant, and did provide assistance once realizing CarePatrol and DHR had been duped by a dubious character. Therefore I don't want to cast negativity specifically on the CarePatroll employee who took my mom, especially since her role in this fiasco is unclear. However to the extent CarePatrol as a company worked so closely with Alabama DHR, and was complicit in executing DHR decisions without proper family/care taker vetting, i rank them 2 stars.

Your agent did not show when had appt with facility. Information was provided and a good place recommended

I felt the information provided was not thorough, it felt like selling a product rather than a considering the individual. It is a very emotional and potentially financially difficult decision to move an elderly parent. I did not feel like there was an effort to know the details of either the needs of my mother, nor the offerings at the communities. I had to ask for those details. I am still discovering things that would have been nice to know prior to our moving my mother into Montecito.

The rep was proactive to the point of being intrusive. She was determined to get my mother into an assisted living facility where they were “running a special” even though it was obvious that what my mother needed was a skilled nursing facility. When I did get my mom into a SNF, the representative made her disapproval clear - no doubt because there was no longer a commission involved. Dealing with Care Patrol made a stressful situation worse. To the rep’s credit, she did urge me to call an ambulance for my mom when I was unsure what to do, and I appreciate that, which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of only 1.
