I was not aware of care patrol until my wife's boss gave me all the information. I got in touch with care patrol on a Monday and was informed that I will be working with Kristen. I talked to Kristen and told her what was going on with my mom and she gave me some questions to ask the nursing home where my mom was at.I gave Kristen the information that she needed and she went to work to find my mom the best place that was suited for her. It only took a couple days and she had found a couple places for us to view and needless to say we ended up finding a very nice place for my mom for assisted living. If you are in need of help looking for a senior complex for your parents, I would just calling care patrol they were fantastic and I can't think them enough for all their hard work and dedication. Totally outstanding and blew my mind. They made a bad situation good by helping me find care for my mom. Thank you again Kristen for all your hard work

I consulted with Care Patrol to help me locate an appropriate assisted living for my Mother. We were under time constraints given she was in the hospital acute rehab and needed care at discharge. While I am in the field and have knowledge related to how to check survey results and ratings it was reassuring to have Care Patrol along with me and providing support during a stressful time. My parents were looking for an assisted living community and we couldn't have done it as well and as easily without CarePatrol! From start to finish, we felt like we had such an advantage working with Michael and his team. We got good suggestions/options about places that fit our needs; weren't pushed into anything - the decisions were all ours; and felt supported the entire time. We give it all the stars! Karla Middlekamp was so helpful to our family during the difficult time of loosing my father in law and assisting with placing my mother in law into assisted living. She is very caring and compassionate. She answered all our questions and was readily available when we needed assistance.

CarePatrol did help me find a facility for my Mom that I am very happy with. But they did not provide the breadth of service claimed on their website. Here are my comments of how they performed for each of their 5 claims: DISCOVERY OF SENIOR'S NEEDS CarePatrol did determine what the needs of my Mom were so they could match them to a facility. They also determined the needs of the family such as location, visitation, etc. 5 Stars GUIDED TOUR OF FACILITIES Because of COVID-19, a tour was not an option, but I was told to look at the virtual tour video on the facility's website. CarePatrol was not on top of things enough to tell me that the suite shown in the video was for the assisted living side of the facility and was not the studio room my Mom would get on the memory care side. I only discovered this on my own after I had shown my Mom the video and had extolled the virtues of the suite and made a floor plan of what furniture we could bring. This bait and switch was very difficult to explain to my Mom and created a major problem. If CarePatrol is going to rely upon the facilities virtual tour in lieu of their own guided tour they should know exactly what they are substituting. The facility's website was equally to blame in not making it clear that the tour was of the assisted living side - they should have a separate virtual tour of the memory care side. 1 Star FULL CARE DETAILS AND TRANSPARENT PRICING CarePatrol did provide an overview of the care that would be provided to my Mom and did explain the costs. However, while the direct cost of the facility was fully explained, the supplementary costs were not mentioned, such as Depends, Ensure, toiletries, podiatrist, hair dresser, etc. This will be different for each person, but guidance in determining these costs should be provided. The overview of the care provided was far from detailed. It certainly did not present the information in the facility's 96 page admissions agreement I had to sign. Nor was a typical day in the life of a resident outlined. For example, the resident will be awakened around x o'clock. Their teeth will be brushed, hair combed, etc. They will then be dressed. They will be taken to breakfast. There will be a planned activity every day. Once a month a podiatrist will trim and care for their nails. Etc. This kind of detail was not presented and was left to me to determine directly with the facility. Pricing: 4 Stars, Care Details: 3 Stars. MOVING DAY AND TRANSITION SUPPORT There was no moving day or transition support. 0 Stars CONTINUING CARE ASSESSMENTS Mom has only been in the facility for one week so I have no feedback on this yet. SUMMARY: It was extremely helpful to have help finding a good facility that matched our needs. Once that critical task is complete, the individual can get the other details from the facility. It is for this reason that I would use CarePatrol again. But I did not know to ask many important questions up front and it took a lot of trial and error and time to finally discover all I needed to know. This is where CarePatrol fell short. Support in these areas would have allowed me to focus more on identifying the clothing, personal items, and furniture that needed to be moved into the facility, coordinate getting the medical and prescription information from the Doctors to the facility, and of course, deal with the long term care insurance company - a job all in itself. But it is doable, and having your loved one end up in a good facility makes it all worth it. I've been sleeping 10 hours each night and falling asleep off and on during the day since Mom was admitted. I knew I was tired, but now that I can finally "let go" I realize how exhausted I have been. Like many I probably waited too long before I moved Mom to a memory care facility. She is very happy there already, and is eating more too, and likes having other people to talk to. 25 Possible Stars 13 Stars Earned 3 Stars Average
