I had to use this place for some needed eye surgery in the summer of 2023, although in hindsight (no pun intended) I would have been better off saving the $8,500+ since my vision didn't improve much. Supposedly, I got 12 months interest free- but the rate after that was over 20%. I was late by a day in January and got hit with a $41 late fee, and then a $2 interest fee. If possible I would avoid this place due to high interest rates and fees. They are victimizing people in need.

My husband and I applied for a Care credit account to finance our cat’s dental surgery since we are still paying off our late dog’s MRI. None of their reps would tell us how it works. My husband, a finance guy for 40 years, refused to believe the vet set the promotions. We spoke to a care credit manager from India with the name John (telltale sign right there) who promised to help walk our vet desk through the 60 month free financing the day of the surgery. We even recorded this since he was on speaker. Only to find when we called after the surgery that the call was not even noted. I will pay this off before they get a penny of my money and close this account. Shameful

When I got my Care Credit Card, it was great; I believe I had obtained it before 2018. I used this card when I first got it for dental work, then for getting glasses, contacts, or even my medicine. It was very helpful with the cost of medications. About a month ago, I received a letter in the mail stating my account had been closed. I never received a courtesy call or anything to ask if everything was okay. They tried to say it was because of high fraud activity, which is nonsense; normally, companies call to verify. The Care Credit itself is great, but the company that provides it is not. If you get it, only use it for emergencies because who knows how long you will have it.

I had to give a star to write this review trust me I didn’t want to give even 1 star. This company was a good idea for me at first because I was able to use it for all my pets, not just one. I had a line of credit of $2,500; then, as I was paying it off, making more than the minimum payment, I had $1,800 left to pay off. My line of credit was decreased to $1,970. I was told it was not them but TransUnion who lowered my credit line. I've never heard of anything like this happening in my life. I would never recommend this card to anyone. I've never had a line of credit lowered because I was making my payments on time every month, more than the minimum. The only reason I asked for the line of credit of $2,500 was because my cat needed surgery that was going to cost $2,200. My card was only open for four months before they decreased my line of credit. So, I canceled my card. I’ve read so many reviews that all say the same things as I did. They are like a scam they steal from you and screw your credit as they take your money.

I have been a care credit customer for years. Never any problems until today. I have two fees on my account but the payments for those months were on time. They are refusing to remove those fees. Just be careful and monitor your account periodically. I could not understand why I was making the payment yet my balance due was going up.

I had to apply to have some dental work done in an emergency and the dentist's office assured me they are a reputable company. I made my minimum payments on time for many months and then today another payment was due. I looked at the statement closer because the balance I owed was larger than it was last month. How could that be. And then I saw it. $108.39 in interest. Are they kidding. Nobody charges that much in interest or at least I thought that until today. I also saw that they had lowered my credit by approximately 1/3 of the original amount available. None of my financial accounts has ever done that and in fact some have even raised the limit. I called them and basically told them that I would never make another payment to them and this account would just be ignored and I didn't care if they sent it to a collections agency. DO NOT ever use this credit company so do whatever you need to do and pay another way, thank you...

Closed my account after an auto pay being sent back...I fixed 2 days later when I noticed they pulled the ach-also when I had intended to pay anyhow. Next thing I know they closed my account because of this rejected payment. But the thing is, I cancelled my auto pay weeks before it was even supposed to pull anyway!! Because I knew I would be 2 days late due to paydays. I was okay with the late fee. They still pulled autopay, their software online didn't save my changes-but that's my fault. Their software also tried to pull the autopay Again (which they say could not happen at all) so a week after the rejected payment & 5 days after I made the manual payment-no payment was due. I have the bank statement prove it tried to pull twice-but they say they their system shows it didn't try to pull again. So their system shows I didn't cancel autopay-but I did, their system shows I didn't change payment amounts months before-but I did, their system shows they didn't try to double charge me for the month, but they did & I have the proof-so how can they say their systems are 100% reliable & go off of them only & not listen to a customers word at all? Cant believe it!! But after reading reviews I see now they do this to a lot of people! What the heck?? They don't reconsider or listen to what may have truly been an issue out of your control or their software. They seem to be stuck up in regards to credit card/financial companies. Bigger &/or better companies don't do this, they work with their customers. Never had a problem like this with PayPal/Synchrony, it seems to only be CareCredit/Synchrony....They don't seem to care about the consumer at all. Date of experience is when the first issues started.

I requested a credit of 5900 to be approved with my Dad as co-pay because they did not approve me by myself even though I had a good credit score. My understanding was that as long as I was paying on time, I wouldn't be charged any interest rate. Two and a half years later, that was not the case. They had charged me the accrued interest rate from that period of time ALL at once and added it right into my balance. I never noticed the warnings in the statement because again I had a different understanding of how this works. Just to make it clear, this is definitely my fault. It is the WORST financial mistake of my life. All because I didn't read close enough what I was signing up for. I'm giving a 1-star review because this is truly the worst financing ever. You could get 0% APR on other credit cards for 6, 12 or even 18 months, and they still won't charge all the accrued interest, which for me was about 3000 dollars... Never again will I work with CareCredit. I should have known better. Quite soon after I realized all this, I did a couple of balance transfers to 0% APR credit cards, and paid off this card, so I won't pay 29.99% interest on top of my already-inflated balance.
