Booked flight through capital one travel with rewards and paid $206 for seats additional. Seats were cancelled by them according to American Airlines with NO notification through Capital one travel. When I called the day before the flight (2 months after I booked the flight) while trying to check in early through app I was made aware of the cancellation. When I called COT I was told AA didn’t accept the method of payment through them?? AA says not true that they in fact cancelled them. Never once was sent an email making me aware of the cancellation by COT nor given refund of my seats that were charged to my account. Wasn’t until I called their bluff that they offered me refund! Will NEVER book through them again!

I had a medical conference in Phoenix, AZ and I made my hotel reservations through Capital One Travel a week prior. I paid in full and headed to my conference. I arrived at the hotel and the front desk could not find my reservation and were fully booked. The travel agent called the hotel only to hear the same thing. Capital One Travel had no acceptable alternatives and I was left to make my own accomodations. I just wanted to get in my room after a long flight and find something to eat. Instead, I found myself hungry, tired, sitting on a bench with my luggage and approached by a man on the street asking me if I had found Jesus. If the error had been on my end, I'm sure they would have made me pay for it. 100% their fault and all they offered was a reimbursement. I will never use Capital One Travel ever again.

Their cancellation policy is deliberately deceptive. Make sure you read the fine print very carefully. We will be canceling our cards and will never use this company again.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Booked a flight with them and they couldn't find a way to manage my reservation with the airline. Booked on an airline that doesn't even have a website. What a joke. Customer service representative was kind but not helpful at all. Will NOT be using Capital Travel again

I expected the agency to prioritize my interests and ensure the best travel experience possible, along with providing the necessary customer service to handle any changes. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Capital One Travel completely altered my flight itinerary without my consent—adding an extra stop and extending my total travel time from about 20-23 hours to over 30 hours! This significant change was made without any approval from me, the paying customer. When I contacted their support team, they claimed they had emailed me twice—which I never received—and assumed my lack of response meant I accepted the changes. This is completely unacceptable and reflects shady business practices. No company should assume consent from silence, especially when it involves critical travel plans. The representative I dealt with showed little care for customer service, offering a level of service far below what I expected. If you're considering booking flights or travel packages through Capital One Travel, I strongly urge you to reconsider. This experience has been a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and avoid using Capital One Travel.

Rating this after multiple problems over a year with Capital One Travel Portal, specifically for booking flights. Wrong information is pretty common, even on flights I've booked. For instance, it will say refundable only for me to realize that it was incorrectly listed on the website. It will say a flight is available but once I try to book it, it will be unavailable. I've never had these experiences over years of using Expedia and Priceline. The only reason I even look at the capital one travel portal is because I have the Venture X card. I have to call support so often and lately have had unpleasant and rude experiences.

Believe me, stay away from Capital One Travel, even with the enticing 10x reward points and any travel credits. You will end up paying far more than any other travel websites or booking through the hotel directly. I learned of a very bad lesson of using Capital One Travel for hotel booking. I had booked a hotel in Asia and chosen the room type that was shown on Capital One Travel specifically a larger room with two double-size beds or a king-size bed with a total price about $400 more than a room with two twin-sized beds shown the Capital One Travel website. I knew well of these two room size difference as I had stayed in the same hotel before. However, the confirmations from Capital One did not show the room type (perhaps on purpose) or the bed size details. I called immediately Capital One Travel to raise my concern pointing out the lack of my bed type selection in the confirmation and was made rest assured by their customer rep on the call that it was a larger room with two double-sized beds or a king-sized bed assigned at check-in. However, when I checked in to the hotel last night, my worry was proved to be valid as I was assigned a room with two TWIN-sized beds instead of the larger room with two DOUBLE-sized beds that I had paid for. The hotel also showed me the room type sent by Capital One Travel was a room with two twin-sized beds only. The hotel manager asked me to show the confirmation from Capital One Travel. After spending a long time trying to justify my claim and rationalize the situation, the hotel has decided to accommodate me as a courtesy to change my room to two doble-sized beds when one is available. We are still not sure if I would get the room selected originally at this point. Of course, I was very upset and called Capital One Travel informed them about my situation but they provided no help at all. After all, shame on Capital One Travel with dishonest business practices deceiving card holders!

Do not book your hotel through capital one travel portal. I booked a hotel though the portal, but I wasnt able to be present at check-in. When I called capital one to add my husband to the reservation, they told me that wasnt possible and I would be unable to use my reservation unless I was physically present at check-in. When I called the hotel to get him added to the reservation they told me to call the 3rd party I booked through (capital one) - so when I re-called capital one, they told me they booked through a 3rd party (maybe like expedia), but they could not share the name of the 3rd party booking service. So I was stuck in a catch 22 where the hotel said the 3rd party booking service had to add my husband to the reservation, and then capital one saying they couldn't disclose who the 3rd party booking service was. It was nuts.
