Big Bear Retreat
Check in was very easy. The staff was very professional and courteous. The drive to the cabins was also very easy. The area was very congested bc the cabins were so close together. Our cabin was in a bad area. If a vehicle lost control going downhill, this cabin would be destroyed!Parking was TERRIBLE and LIMITED at this cabin! The cabin was great! It was nice and clean as well as spacious! The kitchen would have been perfect except it lacked cookware. There were mixer bowls but they we burnt and nothing to prepare meals such as spaghetti with. As for the first floor bedrooms the only thing needing attention was the right bathroom; the toilet was rocking. The bedrooms contained fireplaces and nice size tubs which was awesome! The website makes you think that the cabin has a seperate media room; it DOES NOT! The media room is crammed into the top bedroom with twin queen bunk bed a futon and a two game machines! Very misleading! This room is designed for kids but is DANGEROUS in so many ways! Downstairs was better spaced out. No complaints from the family downstairs except the game systems making noise all night. It was said to advise visitors to unplug before bed! The hot tub was a definite plus! ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CABIN IN THE BACK, ITS TRASHED. THERE ARE THINGS FROM BEER BOTTLES, TO ROCKING CHAIRS, TO ALL KIND OF LITER. IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE BEAUTIFUL VIEW THAT THE CABIN IS SUPPOSED TO OFFER. THIS IS HORRIBLE AND NOTICEABLE AS SOON AS YOU WALK ONTO THE PATIOS. Overall we had a great experience with the minor mishaps!
