I was a Buildium user for over 10 years and this is my personal opinion, there has been many draw backs Such as, their platform lacks integration with QuickBooks, and their accounting software is not something most bookkeepers or CPAs are comfortable using, which has been highly problematic. But their customer support was worth all the shortfalls. Well time have changed: their customer support is now outsourced to a call center in India, where staff lack the necessary knowledge to troubleshoot the software. Instead, they simply escalate the issue to their Boston team, which never responds. I was once extremely loyal to Buildium because of their focus on small, boutique landlords, but now they overcharge for outdated software and provide subpar customer service. It's disappointing to see the decline in their quality. There have been many issues over the last year but the latest over a month ago in August 2024 and just last week 9/3/2024 and 9/6/2024 I contacted Buildium because I was unable to complete a simple background check and get an OPPS Error Try Again, as a result, and as of 9/9/2024I have never recieved a follow up to resolve this issue. As most Property managers will note This is our busy season so I have been delayed renting out units, which has been extremely costly, and I had to do a work around a used Zillow's service. Also, now their software is seriously buggy and keeps crashing. Sadly, today is the end of our buildium relationship

On July 8 2024, Buildium experienced a significant outage that lasted the entire day. This outage had a profound impact on my business operations. My entire office was on hold, unable to access vital information and perform essential tasks. As a property management company, downtime like this is not just inconvenient; it is detrimental to our operations and reputation. What is most frustrating is Buildium's response to the outage. Despite the significant disruption, they have been unwilling to offer any form of compensation. This lack of accountability and customer care is unacceptable for a service we rely on so heavily for our day-to-day operations. While I understand that technical issues can occur, the measure of a good company is how they handle these situations and support their customers through them. In this case, Buildium has fallen short. The lack of transparency, communication, and willingness to make amends has eroded my trust in their service. If you are considering Buildium for your property management needs, I urge you to consider this experience and weigh the potential risks of relying on a service that may not support you when things go wrong. There are other options out there that might better appreciate your business and provide the reliability and customer service that we, as property managers, need and deserve.

Thanks for your review, CL. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Did you know we have a status web site that you can visit and see uptime statistics, details for past and current incidents, and that you can subscribe to updates for an active incident so that you can be made aware the moment the issue is resolved? Bookmark it at status.buildium.com For clarification, the issue on July 8 was site slowness. Our team was able to resolve the slowness within approximately 2 hours of its first identification as detailed on our status web site. We appreciate you continuing to use Buildium, one of the most reliable platforms available, which enjoys a 99.9% uptime or better.

Buildium's design is outstanding for our business. I have tried others and this is by far the best. Online payments, reports..nothing compares that I have found.

Buildium is continually striving to improve their product and encourages user participating in voting for which changes are priority. My business model is somewhat different than most and as such, I don't necessarily want to implement every new whizbang feature they roll out (some I want to implement after MY EVALUATION, some I may never want to implement.) For the most part, their development method allows me to only implement those changes which I find useful and ignore or easily work around those I fine useless due to the differences in my business model.

Thanks for your review, Drick! We appreciate you taking the time to write about us. And you're right, any new feature we roll out is there to be used in case you need it, and if you don't then your existing workflow is still in place.

Five things: 1) [today, in the request for comment email, Trustpilot?] Upon clicking the email's "Write Your Review" button: HTTPS-Only Mode Alert Secure Site Not Available You’ve enabled HTTPS-Only Mode for enhanced security, and a HTTPS version of go.buildium.com is not available. 2) [Buildium] Continued frustration that we are not able to create an HOA sub-association (or even such for a select set of GLs) budget and, 3) see YTD amounts, by month, etc., budget-vs-actuals, and ... 4) drill into a time-unit element, e.g., July, to see the associated bills. I've had to cobble together this information from several queries into several spreadsheets and re-arrange everything. 5) [today, Trustpilot] the awkward re-sign-in procedure at the end of the questionnaire form asking for sign-in to what turned out to be a Trustpilot account rather than my account with Buildium. Whew! Hope this helps. David Stubbs Erickson Farms HOA Management Software Committee Vancouver, WA

Overall, a good system with room for improvement. Customer service has gone down hill since purchased by Realpage. They seem to focus more on rentals than HOA/COA's.
