When I tried to return a shirt and they were out of stock on my size I asked for a refund. They charged me $8.95 restocking fee! I asked for it to be rescinded since it was their fault it was out of stock the said tough luck that's the policy. Not right

DO NOT PAY FOR QUICK DELIVERY!! The company truly is deserving of zero stars with how they handle issues but, Google doesn’t let you leave less than a one star review. Do NOT pay for expedited shipping under any circumstances. It is a waste of money. I had seen a cap that looked decent online. I used their sizing chart that was visibly noticeable to determine my size based off their charts and then placed the order and selected the fastest delivery option possible. Which was obviously the most expensive option too but, I knew and accepted that. 3 days later, it arrives to the destination city’s local USPS facility. From there I watched it leave to another state via the tracking number. I had to wait until the next business day as that update was seen towards the end of the day. I contacted the USPS and was told that Boston Scally Company miswrote the label and also had only ordered a basic ground service despite me having paid for and ordered expedited shipping. They had a few other ways to place blame BSC to the point I thought it was the USPS just trying to cover their tracks from making a mistake. Until I contacted the company. That’s where I realized the Post Office was most likely accurate in what they were saying was the issue. The best way to describe the interaction with BSC is trying to have a professional conversation with a teenager. Whoever responds to the emails at BSC was arrogant, didn’t seem very knowledgeable with the company’s online checkout system and just talked in circles with no real solution to the issue to include just using copy and paste. After legitimately having to breakdown a timeline on how the package was late because of the lack of accountability BSC assumed, they wanted to then explain they take a couple days to even send out the order and that is “clearly stated”. It wasn’t anywhere on the checkout or in an ad for a single product. They say it’s in the FAQ section when called out on this. That’s odd considering the only people who go to that section would be people who have a question. Buying a cap is pretty straightforward. I’m not sure how many people visit the FAQ section to simply purchase a hat. So for example, if you pay for 3-5 day shipping as the quickest offered option, it’s actually 5-7 days. This also doesn’t include weekends according to BSC. Despite mail getting delivered on Saturdays. So that 3-5 days you just paid for can turn into anywhere from 5-9 days. Which is a bit off from the service you think you just paid for. Things happen but, we shouldn’t pay for a service we didn’t/don’t receive. I would’ve still paid for the hat but did want a refund of the cost of the delivery. I would’ve selected a cheaper option if I wanted it to arrive whenever. There was no accountability on behalf of BSC. They’ll charge you for different delivery rates but, will not honor them at all. “We have no control” was their exact response. But they control taking money from your account? Rather quickly too. And will not make any attempt at correcting the situation. As this is being written, I still have not received the delivery. Read through the reviews. You’ll see this doesn’t seem like their first time to the rodeo of taking peoples money and then not standing by their “Fans first” or “fast delivery”.

This makes the second horrible customer service experience with this company. Ordered 3 hats and while I own the mistake, Customer service should help... I forgot to select the correct size on one of the three. I recognized the error as soon as I hit submit and Immediately emailed Customer service. This was about 2200 (10 pm) on Saturday night, Received a reply overnight at about 0230 that I could cancel the order and just reorder the correct size. I replied within 30 minutes of this email saying cancel the order. Nothing for the next 12 hours. Then, OH SORRY, Too late, the order has already been processed and I could initiate a return after it all shows up in 7-10 days. We all know darn well, that nobody picked my order overnight on a early sunday morning and that this could not be corrected. Leaving me to sincerely believe that this company is more about holding on to my money versus providing superior customer service, or basic customer service at best. Eamil only, No person, No phone, No Chat, just email. Sad.

Beware of the quality of Boston Scally summer weight/lighter weight caps!! I purchased one of the summer weight 6 panel caps, color black from Boston Scally earlier this year and am very disappointed. I work in the trades in the mid-Atlantic area so it gets rather hot in the summer. The cap’s black color is not “color-fast”… it has taken on a reddish-brown stain area from the sweat, even though I rinse it or wash it with a mild detergent after sweating in it all day. I wrote to Boston Scally and their reply was quite disappointing, implying I must have exposed it to some chemical or harsh detergent… they did give me a 20% discount for my “next purchase”… but, that’s not likely🫤. For a company that charges over $50 for every cap, I would have expected more… like a replacement cap! I have purchased several caps from this company so it’s not like I’m a “one-and-done” customer… now I’m simply an ex-customer.

Almost as soon as I shipped I had an email informing me my new hats were already shipped! My original order and now my exchange order both got to me a day early. The response to questions is super fast. The quality of the Boston Scally is spot on. I ordered three and I absolutely love them! Comfortable, almost to comfy. Horrible customer service. Just another company that just has customer service through email. No phone number. When they tell you in the email too bad so sad and you try to email them again, they ignored you. If you are unhappy with their product especially after 30 days you are screwed. You are stuck with paying for something you can’t use. Seems more and more companies are not listing customer service numbers. Good way to cheat people out of their money.
