I've been a customer of BMO for more than 5 years now, and have more than 30 semi trucks financed with them, many of them paid off and I NEVER missed a payment!!! So this year many trucking companies having tough times so I decided to ASK a question on possibly giving me a break on payments for a month or 2, and with no answers they put me in a SPEACIAL division as a failing customer, more so i was told even if ill pay few of my trucks off i wont be receiving titles till all trucks are paid off. All my previous advisers and BEST Friends at that time running to the woods.... no other bank did ANYTHING like this, and I asked same questions to all 5 of my banking partners. STAY AWAY!!!!

Corrupt. I went to open an account and told the guy who was opening my account that i wanted to do crypto transactions and he let me go through with opening my account. I later found out you cant make crypto transactions through BMO and when I tried to close my account they want to charge me a $50 fee. Ik its not much but why charge me anything at all.

I received an invitation in the mail to open a credit card account with BMO and I'd receive $300 statement credit after I spent $2000. I spent the $2000 in February 2024. In May I called about my statement credit and was told it would post the first or second statement following the 90 day window. Today I spoke with Mark Wood(s?) who told me my account was not NEW because I had an accent in 2022 with Bank of the West so no bonus. Pathetic. I see a lot of negative reviews for this sorry excuse for a bank. I do this all the time earning free cash, airline miles, cruise points and other travel bonuses points, etc. BMO is the first time anyone has reneged on an offer.

Most corrupt bank I have ever delt with. If there are lawyers building a case against this bank feel free to look me up. All statements have been saved. There is no logic in statements. Upon calling center to have them explain to me, no one can come up with a legit answer to what's actually going on. Even the statement paperwork it not filled out properly. It's criminal, statements do not make sense from one to the next. Stealing at its best. Would not recommend this bank.

BMO took over our local bank, (Bank of the West), in Lakewood, Colorado. What a disaster! We have had checks on order for 9 months and still no checks! My wife deposited her paycheck and she was unable to access her money. She called customer service and they said all checks automatically get an 18 day hold until funds are available. We won't be able to close our account fast enough! Good riddens to these incompetant Canadian invaders!

Just an awful company to deal with. Trying to get MasterCard balance. Phone number on card is for checking/savings accounts not the credit card. No option to get recorded info as to balance and recent transactions. The CSR seemed like he really wanted to help but was prevented from that due to login issues which had locked us out. We were told we needed to go to a branch to prove identity. The nearest one is a 40 mile drive (one way). This is the second time they have treated us like criminals trying to defraud the bank. A month ago the problem was even worse. That CSR asked my husband what his credit limit was. He gave the correct answer (from the statement) at least 5 times but this CSR ignored his response and locked him out anyway. This one had attitude and proved it by ignoring my husband's answers to identify himself.

I had an account with them. They closed it due to a negative balance, fast-forward to about a year after my account closed. There was a check that I believe came from the state of Illinois that they deposited.. from my understanding..no bank is supposed to accept any payment once the account is closed and the check should’ve been mailed to me. I finally called and they confirmed that there was a check that posted to my closed account but they could not tell me where it was from. I even tried to make a payment for the remaining balance to reopen the account and the bank tried to treat me like I was committing fraud several times! this has been going for about three years and I’ve been calling and no one can tell me where the check went now I am in check systems for the “full” amount , when it actually should be less because they accepted a check & posted it to a closed account. i’ve been looking everywhere to find the correct attorney that can represent me. There’s also a note on my account because someone confirmed that there was a check so I either need the check issued to me or it needs to reflect the current balance on the account I will never ever ever bank with this bank again this is fraudulent and it’s stealing. I’ve called several times and physically went in person when I call. I’m advised to go in person and when I go in person, I’m advised to call at this point. I need documentation and I need the issue resolved.

I could write a book of the woes I have encountered in the 8 months since BMO took over from my previous bank. Both my debit and credit cards are put on holds for suspicious activity every month . . . due to monthly automatic renewals which have been going for years. I needed to make an overseas wire transfer from overseas and after 2 hours was finally given a supervisor who supposedly could help me. Except that all three of the choices she gave me were completely wrong. This is just the beginning. As soon as I possibly can (upon return to the US, I will be changing banks and wiping the dust off of my feet.
