I was a regular donor until my 2nd physical. We I went in for my first I told them about all my tattoos and piercings, noting I didn’t have one in but I do have it and showed them the holes in my ear for proof. The 2nd physical I had it in and they noticed it and said there was no record of it. So I had to bring proof that I got it when I did, which was about 2-3 years before I even started donating. They immediately banned me because they didn’t want to take the fault that they didn’t read the notes in there. They literally told me the note was in my file about my piercing but since I had it in they can’t count it. Plus at the location I went too, they were always very rude and wouldn’t train anyone and just throw them out on the floor on their first day to stick people. The amount of times the staff would yell at clients and laugh in their face because they couldn’t donate or had to stop donating in the process.

A little background, I'm an active/regular donor with 30+ donations at this exact center and spoke highly of this establishment. On 02/25/2023 I was scheduled to donate plasma at Biolife's Mcknight Center at 5PM. I showed up at 5:01 and proceeded to walk from my car across the parking lot to the front doors. They locked the doors on me and proceeded to ignore me for a few minutes before acknowledging me at the door. At this point someone opened the door and I said, hello I have a 5 o'clock appointment to donate. The woman proceeded to say "your appointment is at 5 and we are closed. I said, "I showed up at 5:02" She replied, "two minutes too late" in a rude tone and locked the door on me again" If the business closes at 5PM then why was I scheduled for 5PM? Also, at this point in time they have my account set to "ineligible to donate" status to prevent me from coming back in. The only person who truly loses out in this situation, is the person who actually NEEDS the plasma. Biolife has lost me as a customer until they have corrected this situation. This is no way to treat anyone, and I'm extremely disappointed that its being handled the way it is.

I have given approximately 6 donations. The positives are that plasma sources increase with the win win approach. You get.paid and plasma from those that need it increase. So far a good business model for both parties. The bad is primarily the marketing strategies. Be careful of their financial offers of extra money. Their strategy is to get you there for the first donation at $40 and make it harder for you to get the second donation at $90. Or coupons given for extra money, they come out usually midweek as to make the 2 fors nearly impossible to get. Also their wait times of sometimes 2 hours plus 1 hour machined up leave you adding transpo sometimes making under minimum wage. Outsmart their tactics and it can work for you.

Jenna is the most amazing person working there. She deserves a raise. I have had nothing but great service and experience when she is there. Thank you, BioLife.

The short story is the staff is very nice and they try but honestly at every appointment I have had issues so proceed with caution and maybe my story can help you. My experience as a new donor started on 2/2 I went in and followed the process (which took almost 3 hours by the way tons of waiting) and the technician caused a hematoma so my donation was stopped, ok fine I get it. They told me to come back in a few days because I still had my other arm. Fast forward to a week later because I wanted to give time to heal on 2/9 the technician tells me I can’t donate because the arm where the Biolife technician messed up and caused the hematoma still had a little bruising (even though my other arm was totally fine and no one told me both arms were needed) ok no worries lesson learned right ok I come back on 2/12 all bruising is gone now and after multiple attempts with multiple staff on both arms no one gets a vein. By the way I only drink water 96-100 ounces a day. I am warned “management” will have to review my arms the next time I go in like all this is somehow my fault. Again fine, so I go back on 2/16 and the nurse looks at my arms and she can feel the veins there and says I need a more “experienced” or “senior” person to do the vein ok I ask for that and low and behold eureka they get the vein no issue I do my donation and I think we are all good. Nope! I go in for my next appointment on 2/19 and there is a block on me donating I have to wait to speak to a nurse and I am told that I have to wait for the blood test results before I can donate. NO ONE has EVER told me this apparently there is a 14 day grace period to get blood results and somehow the fact that the staff was unable to get blood until the 2/16 appointment means nothing and I have yet again wasted my time. Ok fine I am told to call in which I do and I am told over the phone the results are “pending” then I get another call that the blood sample was not enough and I have to go in and do another sample. That call was 2/23 and so I returned that day to do the additional blood draw. I am tired of this run around and wasting of my time. None of what is happening here is my fault. No one communicates what’s going on. The crazy part is as a “new donor” they give you a “promotion deadline” mine ends 3/2 so after giving my sample today I have to wait 10 days for results and so I will miss the promotion deadline all because of things outside of my control and well within the control of this company.

Love this place

Wait time was 4 hours just to start questions. That is absolutely unacceptable. Please save yourself and choose somewhere else to donate.
