If I could give this card negative stars, I would. The only reason that I got the card in the first place was because I was able to use it as a credit card without fees to pay my rent, which gave me some financial freedom for the rest of the month. I see no point in using this complicated new system that I don’t understand that doesn’t give me any benefits at all with paying my rent.

Extremely Disappointed with Bilt Card 2.0 – Misleading Marketing and Broken Trust
I was a loyal user of Bilt Card 1.0 when it partnered with Wells Fargo. At that time, the experience was smooth and transparent. I used the card to pay my apartment rent every month, and it worked exactly like a normal credit card — I had the standard billing cycle and about 30 days of float before paying the bill. It was simple and reliable.
Because of that positive experience, I was actually excited when Bilt launched the new 2.0 version. I trusted the company and upgraded to the new Blue card (the no-annual-fee version) without hesitation.
The marketing around Bilt 2.0 repeatedly suggested that you could use the card to pay your mortgage, which sounded like a huge benefit. Naturally, I tried it.
But what happened next was extremely disappointing. After I used the card to pay my mortgage, Bilt withdrew the full mortgage amount directly from my linked ACH bank account within 24 hours — without any clear warning or notification.
This completely defeated the purpose of using a credit card. There was no billing cycle, no float period, and no transparency beforehand about how the payment actually works.
More importantly, it disrupted my monthly cash flow planning, because I expected the payment to follow a normal credit card billing schedule.
To me, this feels like misleading marketing. Bilt heavily promotes the idea that you can “pay your mortgage with the card,” but fails to clearly explain that the money will be pulled almost immediately from your bank account.
That’s not a credit card experience — it’s basically acting like a pass-through payment processor, and that critical detail was never clearly communicated.
As a former loyal user, this experience completely destroyed my trust in the company.
On top of that, the new points-earning rules in Bilt 2.0 have become unnecessarily complicated and confusing. What used to be a simple, user-friendly product now feels overly engineered and difficult to understand.Honestly, since the 2.0 launch, the product feels more like a marketing gimmick than a genuinely trustworthy financial product.
I never expected to feel this way about a company I used to recommend to others.
If you're considering this card, please read the fine print carefully and understand how their payment system actually works.
I hope my experience can help others avoid the same disappointment.

The new bilt 2.0 is so stupid
The new bilt 2.0 is so stupid. They make you spend more just so you can get the 1:1 points on your housing/rent payment. When it was with Wells Fargo you got that anyways with the caveat of needing 5 transactions (no minimum). So stupid, bring back the old agreement. Now you only get 250 points and have to spend a crazy amount just to get the points you got before.

This card has turned to absolute crap
This card has turned to absolute crap. They were not clear about the new rules and made everything very complicated. You cannot float your rent anymore which is one of the only reasons to have this card. Way to turn a good thing into an absolute disaster!

They canceled/returned my rent payment…
They canceled/returned my rent payment with no clear explanation, and because of that my leasing office charged me a $200 late fee. Support still hasn’t explained what failed or provided any return reason/code.
The only “explanation” I found was by reading other people’s reviews — apparently you can’t use the Bilt credit line for rent anymore and payments are pulled from your personal bank account instead. If that’s true, then this card has lost its main purpose for me.
The worst part: I’ve been trying to reach support for over 72 hours and I can’t get a real response or talk to anyone. This is unacceptable for something as serious as rent.
I paid fees for this card and ended up losing more money than I ever saved in points — between the late fee and the extra charges. Terrible experience.

The Charges Seem Like an Awful Joke
Things have gotten worse for the Bilt Card users since the last update. Now they charge of the card, which defeats the purpose of having one. Please beware! Their customer service people lie blatantly and offer poor support. They have no answers for you anymore. So, avoid wasting your time.

The bar is already low for customer…
The bar is already low for customer service now a days but bilt has taken the cake. Generic AI chat bots have now taken over and will never resolve your problem. I’ve been trying to get someone to answer me for days with not even a first touch from a human. Just atrocious the level of respect they have for their customers.

Formal Complaint
Formal Complaint – Lack of Support and Mishandling of the BILT 2.0 Transition
I am filing a formal complaint regarding the extremely poor customer support and the chaotic rollout of the BILT 2.0 system.
The transition to this new system appears to have been implemented without proper communication to customers. Critical information about billing behavior and account handling was not clearly explained, leaving many users confused and dealing with financial and account issues that could have easily been avoided with transparent communication.
What is even more unacceptable is the complete lack of meaningful support. I have been waiting for more than three days for assistance and have yet to receive a real response from a human representative. Instead, I continue to receive repetitive copy-and-paste messages that clearly come from automated systems and do not address the actual questions or problems being reported.
Customer support should exist to resolve issues, not to send robotic responses that ignore the situation entirely. This level of service reflects very poorly on the company and demonstrates a serious failure in customer care.
It is extremely disappointing to see such a lack of accountability from a company that handles financial transactions and customer trust. The absence of clear information, combined with ineffective support, has created unnecessary problems for users.
If this issue continues to be ignored, I will be canceling my subscription and removing any association with this service. I will also continue to share this experience publicly so other customers understand the level of support they can expect.
Customers deserve transparency, responsibility, and real assistance—not automated replies and silence.
This situation needs to be addressed immediately.
