Bilt 2.0 is a total bait and switch. The 1.0 version applied rent payments to the credit line, while the 2.0 version requires rent payments to be debited directly from a checking account. This completely defeats the reason I was using a Bilt card in the first place - cash management. This material and major change in handling rent payments was not made clear during the transition process from 1.0 to 2.0. The so called customer service is non-existent. Currently waiting for an "agent" and have wasted nearly 2 hours todays trying to reach a real person.

Bilt 2.0 Broke Rent Payments & No Support Response
I’ve been a loyal Bilt member for years and hold both the Bilt 1.0 and 2.0 cards. I previously paid rent via PayPal without issue.
After the Bilt 2.0 update, the PayPal option disappeared. I contacted their chatbot and was instructed to generate a routing/account number under “Property Rent Portal” and link it to PayPal. I followed those instructions exactly.
Bilt then rejected the payment. PayPal processed the transfer attempt and is retrying, putting me at risk of NSF bank fees and rent delinquency.
I’ve tried email, app chat, SMS, and social media — zero human response.
For a company built around rent payments, this level of product confusion and lack of support is extremely disappointing.

Absolute botch job by their leadership
Was a great card I recommended to anyone that had housing payments for a couple years. As most here are saying, they moved to 2.0 and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a company plummet their client experience like this. Suddenly, now there is no chat or phone support available. Communication completely scattered and misleading. I will keep the card open simply for benefits of usage on my credit score, but there are so many other credit cards with better perks that deserve your business.

Bilt 1.0 was confusing, Bilt 2.0 is horrible. I'm done.
Bilt 1.0 was confusing. Bilt 2.0 is horrible.
Biggest issue, the department that handles rent payments is only available by text or email. There is no guaranteed response time. I paid my rent a day early. My landlord got a message saying it would process in 2 business days. I asked the chat bot for help, it told me 3 business days. It has been 3 business days. No payment, no guarantee I'll hear back any time soon from the emails I sent to the rent support department (received a high 'call' volumes message too), and if the payment doesn't process by the end of tomorrow, I get a late fee. Believe it or not, the company does have two phone lines you can call, which are fairly useless, because neither addresses rent payment inquiries, you know, that payment that keeps a roof over your head every month.
I have had 3 payment issues with the company over 6 months as a user. 1st was my mistake, the instructions for Bilt 1.0 were complicated, and my mistake ended up getting my Venmo account frozen. 2nd issue, my Venmo was frozen again when they failed to tell us in advance they would be deactivating the old rent payment system on the day I happened to pay my rent with no prior notice, 4 days before the new cards were due to activate. This is the 3rd. 3 strikes and I'm out.
Do not trust this company. Zero accountability. Their customer service system is utterly unhelpful, and takes ages to get back to you. Will be closing my account as soon as this payment processes. Too bad the cards are made of metal and nearly indestructible. This is all to say nothing of the overhaul of the rewards system to only add value to users spending over 25% of their rent amount on other card purchases. I dont even care about that at this point though. $3.3K has left my account and been in limbo for 5 days (3 biz), they have violated their own terms, with zero accountability. Mine as well be DOGE at that point. Do not trust Bilt. Never paying my rent this way again. Goodbye Bilt, another scam American company with zero accountability or care for its end users.

Bilt 2.0 -bad experience with rent payment
I submitted a rent payment through Bilt 2.0 - obsidian on February 27th. The money was withdrawn from my bank account, but my landlord still hasn’t received it.
It was never clearly explained that adding a new payment card could require up to five business days or that a rental agreement upload would be required. When I tried to upload the document, the system repeatedly returned an error.
The biggest issue: there is no real customer support.
No phone number. No way to speak to a person. The AI chatbot is useless and only provides scripted responses.
I am currently traveling and this delay has made my rent late, yet there is no urgency and no clear answers about where my money is.
For a company handling rent payments, this level of support is unacceptable.

Don't trust Bilt with your credit
I’ve been a longtime Bilt member, but since their recent platform transition and issuer change, the experience has been extremely disappointing.
During the switch to the new Bilt Card, their system malfunctioned and incorrectly denied applications — including mine — despite an 800+ credit score. I was informed directly that there were internal system issues affecting qualified members.
It has now been over two months, and despite executive acknowledgment of the problem and a promise of manual review, I have received no resolution, no follow-up, and no accountability.
Customer support has been unresponsive and unable to provide meaningful updates beyond generic responses. Meanwhile, I’m left dealing with the fallout of an error that originated entirely on their end.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering applying wait until the platform and servicing issues are fully stabilized. At this time, the lack of communication and resolution is unacceptable.

Mortgage payment not received
submitted mortgage payment via Bilt, amount deducted from my checking account. 16 days later, did not received by lender, and contacted Bilt support multiple times, zero response. Money just disappeared. Never use this firm.

Autopay didn't debit full amount, causing me to be charged a late fee.
I have autopay set up through BILT. They didn't debit me the full amount for this month, therefore, I was charged a late fee. I have attempted to contact support, but it is nearly impossible to contact a real person.
