From everything I saw before applying for this card.. you could use it to pay rent and it would apply to your credit line. I used for the first time this month and apparently that’s not the case anymore with 2.0. There’s no point to having this credit card if you can no longer use it to pay rent. All it’s basically doing is acting as an unneeded middle man to ultimately just to use your bank account. The only reason for getting this card was to use it to pay rent then immediately paying it off once I got my paycheck. This card is useless.

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. I used my linked Venmo account to pay rent in the Bilt app. They took the money out of my account but never sent it. They said it can take up to 3 business days for the recipient to receive the payment but it’s been longer than that. Their customer service is horrible and will not give me a straight forward response to where my money is or how to remedy it.

Worst upgrade to a credit card
I really enjoyed the Bilt 1.0 card. As soon as the Bilt 2.0 started everything went down hill. They removed the ability to float your rent payment. The reason I got this card is so that I can pay half for my rent with my first paycheck of the month then pay the rest with my second paycheck. Now they take your rent and mortgage out of your bank account directly. This was not clear to me when I applied for the 2.0. There is no reason to even keep this card anymore unfortunately.

No customer service (3 hour wait time…
No customer service (3 hour wait time and counting)
No way to set up card alerts
No information on how to set up account with new Bank/Card Issuer
Overall transition has been horrible, and I'm looking forward to any other company to handle my credit card charges. PASS ON THEM.

When Bilt went from the best to the worst credit card I have
When Bilt was partnered with Wells Fargo, it was my favorite credit card. The customer service was outstanding, and the card offered excellent perks and benefits. Transactions were clear, and it was easy to see where to apply your reward points, rewards, etc. If you had any questions, there was always someone ready to answer them. I thought Ankur Jain, who created Bilt, was brilliant—a credit card that let you pay rent and mortgage while offering great perks, benefits, and customer service. Unfortunately, greed got the best of him, and he made a terrible mistake by switching from Wells Fargo to an unknown bank. Now, it’s nearly impossible to understand what's happening to your account online. There’s no number to call the bank and when you try to reach customer service at Bilt itself by phone, it’s impossible to reach anyone for help—they keep you on hold for anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour and a half, and when you finally get through, you’re often disconnected with no call back. Trying to get help online is just as frustrating; no matter how many payments you make, it’s unclear where the payment is going or what your credit line is in a timely fashion. Additionally, instead of maintaining customers’ credit limits, particularly for cardholders in good standing, and professionals like myself, they arbitrarily decided to lower the credit card limit significantly. I am not just speaking for myself, as I personally recommended this card to several family members, friends, and colleagues who are experiencing the same issues and disappointment. Today, the new arbitrary credit line from an unknown bank barely covers rent, especially in a place like New York City. Needless to say, it went from being my favorite credit card to my worst. The irony is striking—they now offer elite memberships like the Flyfish Club Experience for $3,500 annually, yet my new card’s credit limit is just $4,200 compared to the $25,000 I had with Wells Fargo, their previous bank. It’s unbelievable, unacceptable, and deeply disappointing to see how greed can undermine the vision of someone as sharp as Ankur Jain, who initially created such a promising concept with Bilt. I hope my review is taken seriously, as I guarantee you there are many who feel the way I do.

Absurd Changes Ruined Everything
This app was useful once. Now, ruthless decisions have ruined it completely. Users cannot use any credit line to pay rent anymore. It is infuriating. Avoid this app if you do not want rent deducted automatically. The false promises and misleading information make it even worse.

You can no longer use your Bilt 2.0…
You can no longer use your Bilt 2.0 credit line to pay your rent and they will debit your bank statement in 24 hours. The lack of transparency is mind boggling!!

BILT Is criminal
BILT Is criminal. They are torturing customers since splitting from Wells Fargo. They are doing illegal things such as transferring balances without any authorization. They will not allow you to speak with anyone with authority (those people are hiding) you can only get reps in Mexico who speak poor English, have no authority, and are extremely rude. There needs to be immediate government oversight of their business practices. I am filing complaints everywhere.
This website asks for date of experience but the date is everyday since February 7, 2026 when the split from Wells Fargo occurred.
