Their new portal since the 2.0 update has a lot of issues. And now recently the travel portal is glitchy. I made a purchase for travel with points that said it was "processing" but didn't actually go through. Lost all my points and it's been 5 days with still no resolve and my points back that I've earned. Their customer support gives no timeframes and you sit waiting hoping you eventually hear from someone. It's poor customer service and experience.

Good concept, poor execution
We use Bilt as our rent payment portal at my apartment. I have been using it for 1 year 4 months. The app is continually very slow and laggy, and often, buttons disappear (ie, adding an account). Game at end of month is slow and laggy and does not always open. water bill does not post until due date, and Bilt does not let you pay early. ACH transfers take 1-3 business days, but does not post on Bilt until the day it is due. So annoying!

While the concept of earning rewards on…
While the concept of earning rewards on rent payments is appealing, the execution falls far short due to abysmal customer service.
The Good: The convenience of paying rent and collecting points is nice in theory.
The Bad: Point accumulation is extremely minimal, so don't expect significant rewards.
The Unacceptable: Customer service is an absolute disaster. Getting help is nearly impossible:
No direct phone line to reach a live agent for regular account issues
You're forced to use chat support with wait times of 30+ minutes
Even when delinquent accounts get a phone number, the representatives are unhelpful and redirect you back to chat anyway
They have no problem creating issues but provide no reasonable way to resolve them
My Experience: We were enrolled in automatic payments, which somehow got changed without our knowledge or consent. This resulted in our account becoming delinquent. When we tried to resolve it, we hit wall after wall trying to reach someone who could actually help. The frustration of spending hours trying to fix their mistake while being passed between useless channels is unacceptable.
Bottom Line: Unless you're willing to gamble with nonexistent customer support when issues arise, look elsewhere. The minimal rewards aren't worth the headache.

The customer service is MIA
I’ve been charged twice and booked same hotel room twice on the same day somehow. The customer service is MIA, AI chat bot doesn’t know how to cancel hotel reservations. I’ve been sent back and forth to BILT then Wells Fargo then Mastercard and none of those worked. Incredibly frustrating and time consuming. Will not recommend bothering using their services.

Customer service and the payment system need urgent improvements.
The card has a lot of potential and offers great benefits, but honestly, its policies make it very inconvenient to use. The biggest issue is the payment process if you don’t have a Wells Fargo debit account. You’re only allowed to make three online payments — after that, you’re forced to call a representative, answer unnecessary questions like your full address, apartment number, full name, etc. It’s a slow and absurd process for something as basic as making a payment.
I’ve had to spend up to 40 minutes on the phone just to complete a single payment. To me, this feels like a tactic to pressure users into opening a Wells Fargo account, which is completely unacceptable. Personally, I prefer using my American Express cards, where making a payment takes seconds and involves no hassle.
Additionally, the process to verify citizenship or residency was also unnecessarily long, confusing, and bureaucratic. All of this makes the customer experience frustrating, even though the card itself offers decent perks.
In short, the product isn’t bad, but the customer experience definitely is. They need to update their policies, stop forcing conditions on users, and make the card easier to manage. If they don’t, they’ll continue losing users who, like me, prefer more practical and user-friendly cards. I hope they take customer feedback seriously because there’s a lot they need to improve.

I've been a user of Bilt for quite some…
I've been a user of Bilt for quite some time, initially, it was a fantastic, Everything was conveniently linked to a single card, making it easy to manage my rental payments along with other bills and insurance. The process was seamless and automatic, which was a major selling point for me.
However, Bilt has recently changed its policy, and now the entire experience is a hassle. Instead of the previous automated setup, I now have to log in to Bilt about a week before my payment is due, create a Bill Pay, and only then will my rental payment go through.
The most frustrating part is that there is no way to set up automatic payments. Once a Bill Pay is created, it only stays active for 5 days. If I miss that window or forget to log in, my payment won't go through. This is especially concerning if I'm on vacation or dealing with a busy schedule.
The added stress of having to manually log in every month to create a Bill Pay is a huge inconvenience. If I don't authorize the payment in time, there's a risk of the transaction being declined, which could lead to late fees from my bank or the payment processing platform.
On top of that, their customer service is a nightmare. They don’t provide a phone number for support, and you’re left with only chat or email options. The chat is painfully slow, with every response taking 2–3 minutes. This makes it incredibly difficult to resolve any issues quickly.
What was once a simple, automated process has become unnecessarily complicated. It feels like a step backward, and the risk of missed payments is something I’d rather not deal with.

Beware of the link to Wells Fargo
The Bilt Mastercard, issued by Wells Fargo, is not all that it seems. Bilt makes it incredibly difficult to setup payments, rejects payments, and provides generally pretty poor customer service. This results in interest and late charges to customers, as well as increased frustration because its not generally possible to send an electronic payment through your primary bank. You will have to send a check or pay through the Wells Fargo website.
Maybe the juice is worth the squeeze for you, but having to deal with a bank like Wells Fargo in order to obtain access to a supposedly modern rewards program makes no sense.
Response from Bilt Technologies, Inc.Aug 25, 2023
Theo from Bilt Rewards here. Bilt supports the rewards program as well as rent payments. Wells Fargo is the card servicer who would support any credit card related issues. We're unsure about what difficulties you've had with setting up payments, but if you're referring to rent payments, please reach out to [email protected] and we happy to help!
