BetterHelp was easy to sign up with and I have had a great experience with my counselor. She truly cares and is in this business to help people. I was a bit nervous about getting paired with someone who didn't necessarily care or who wouldn't remember me or something, but May has been so attentive and genuine. I feel comfortable opening up to her and she always has sound advice or support.

I was feeling overwhelmed with negative feelings for a while but after utilizing BetterHelp thanks to my therapist I am in a much better head space now.

My biggest setback in finding a therapist was the stress and anxiety of the search, the sitdowns, learning if they suit your style etc... With BetterHelp, they remove all of that stress, and I can honestly say the therapist I was paired with was a perfect match, and the great thing is, if even you feel like they're not, it's super easy to switch.

If you're desperate and considering Betterhelp, please save yourself from being consumed mentally and financially. I came in with hope regardless of doubts around Betterhelp. I've paid for 2 months with absolutely no actual 'help' in return. I also suspect that the positive reviews are fake; they genuinely sound fake and do not go in details while with the negative ones make sense and all support each other. * Here's my general experience with them: The problems that I clearly wanted to address never were addressed with three therapists. The first therapist was empathetic, but I had four 50-minute sessions with her yet she kept pushing back starting treatment and went on about self-care even though I expressed that I'm not in a place where I can start that and would rather tackle issues/trauma (grief, OCD, or depression) immediately. Yet she read off an article about sleep hygiene even though I told her more than once I get enough sleep and I'm ok with the way it is for now! So, I requested someone with experience with OCD. Second therapist came, she knew so little about OCD! She was uplifting and nice and all but you need more from a therapist than that. You need professionalism, experience, and knowing what they're doing. Instead she brushed off the OCD thing with telling me to breathe and repeat to myself "I know at heart". To compulse, the opposite of treatment for OCD. I switched once again with hope. She had many positive reviews. I was hopeful still. To sum it up: she was very insensitive and dismissive and not a great listener. Even during the supposed video session, she looked like she had just woken up in a dark room lying down with flash on her face, yet she kept complaining that my voice was choppy and would cut me off talking about heavy stuff in a rude voice that she can't hear. Why asking me to go on then? She asked me to repeat my traumatic experience so she can see if she can hear better and cuts off the video/voice chat out of nowhere then restarts and implies that it's my network even though my wifi is excellent (just upgraded) and never had an issue. She cut off the session after live chatting instead for 15 minutes where she was insensitive, going off topic, and very dismissive of one of my diagnoses saying it's probably major depression instead and I should get diagnosed by a doctor instead and that she's gonna send some articles later. For real? This is a DISGRACE for psychiatry. She did not show a hint of compassion either, which is a big no. ** My experience with seeking treatment for OCD: Holy! How are these people even licensed? One didn't know that physical sensations can be symptoms of OCD, the other literally asked my to engage in compulsions ever time I had an obsessions/intrusive thoughts, and the last did not understand that Pure OCD exists, and kept saying OCD can be a good thing even though I clearly didn't seek help if it was something positive in my life and I repeatedly mentioned how distressing it is!! I asked for a refund for this month at least and has not been contacted. I went over my budget for this because I believe in prioritizing mental health. I will still be prioritizing my mental health but not with Betterhelp as this experience has been a disservice to my mental health.
