i've had a good experience
i've had a really great experience with better help over the past few months. i needed some support in making some changes in my life and got paired up with a perfect match, a therapist who got me and has been super helpful. however this wasn't the first time i tried better help and in the past i'd not had as good of an experience. so i think it really depends on who you get paired up with. it is pretty easy now, though, to switch therapists if you don't like who you get initially; this was not the case in the past. and it is definitely way easier and more convenient to do online therapy from home (particularly in the midst of a pandemic) than going through all the work to find an in-person therapist that you like IRL. i also like the fact that you can message and chat online with your therapist, as well as do video/phone sessions. it's not cheap though. they like to tout that they are cheaper than regular in-person therapy but that is certainly not true for me, as most therapists i've had experience with do a sliding scale, and since i'm fairly low income, i've always paid much less than what i've paid better help. to me it seems pricey. but i guess this might vary depending on where you live and the kind of therapy you've gotten. all in all, i'm glad for the experience i've had recently and wish i could continue w/my therapist, but i can't afford it any longer. thankfully i'm not in crisis and i do feel like i've gotten what i needed from it.
