A great resource for those with busy life styles and schedules

I was very skeptical of BetterHelp at first, but now I would recommend to anyone like me that doesn't have the time to search for an in-person therapist and has an unconventional schedule for appointments. Software has some bugs that messes with the audio during video chats. I also wish they did have an insurance option. The price isn't bad at all, but it's a lot out of pocket for someone like me and I'm sure others like me.

I wish I could pay on a weekly basis. I don't want to pay for a month at a time. I love how the rest of this program works. I just don't want to pay hundreds of dollars all at once. Not everyone can afford that.

BetterHelp on the whole is convenient, with a smart and organized interface. It allows for a lot of flexibility and even if you aren't currently subscribed to sessions with a therapist, the journaling function is accessible. I'd like to note: if you pay for one week or four weeks, etc, but don't schedule any sessions/cancel sessions, there is no refund - the subscription just provides you to access with a personal therapist, groupinars, etc. Scheduling and participating in these are up to you. The phone app has all the same functions as the website, from journaling to video sessions. It does pay to be a bit picky with the therapist, especially since with BetterHelp you aren't limited to doctors in your area. Upon subscription, you can choose your own, or you can have BetterHelp match you. As someone who had never participated in counseling/therapy before BetterHelp, I relied on the matching function. The first therapist I matched with was very kind, at first readily available, and offered some insight when I asked for it or seemed especially distressed. However, over time it seemed that their schedule became too busy, they cancelled numerous times with very little notice (meaning I generally couldn't reschedule, I had to just schedule for the following week), and were unable to give me the support I needed. This therapist left BetterHelp when I paused my subscription, but I wish I'd had the confidence to take advantage of the 'Change Therapist' button in BetterHelp's menu. When I returned to BetterHelp I was matched with a different therapist, who is fantastic, incredibly insightful, and very communicative and accommodating. She has been awesome in helping me tackle big life changes and she's incredibly mindful and professional. My point is: if the match doesn't feel right, then don't be afraid to change! BetterHelp makes it very easy to change therapists, and there's seemingly so many different professionals readily available, with reviews, career summaries, and profiles to browse. Likewise, it's very easy to start and stop your subscription, just be mindful of billing cycles when scheduling sessions. You do lose access to sessions with your therapist when you've stopped your subscription and reached the end of the billing cycle. I highly recommend BetterHelp due to its convenience and accessibility. It's important to keep in mind that, like I'd expect with in-person counseling/therapy, you're only going to get out of it what you put in. BetterHelp gives you the essential tools needed on an organized, thorough, and professional platform. You're completely in control.

An amazing platform that supports and encourages people to take the next step and take care of their mental health (which is sadly, often, neglected). Very affordable services by excellent specialists who are supportive and knowledgable. I'm very impressed and I highly recommend BetterHelp to everybody!

With the world today even trying to get in to see someone is a pain in the butt or when you need help you have to wait sometimes too long. If by chance you do finally get in its all done on the phone or computer anyways. BetterHelp is awesome I got to read the profiles and see what counselors specializes in and what I was looking for and if you don't click with that person you can switch and find someone that is actually helpful. I look forward to my meetings.
