BetterHelp has good therapists, but in my experience, the therapists would complain about not being appreciated. They would complain about time limits restricting them, and the company siding with the customer regularly. I've personally gone through three separate therapists, and they moved to separate apps. This caused me to start over in my therapy several times. I was close to moving to a separate app, but I gave it one more chance.

Therapist really helped me out, and she was very supportive. However, I was charged yesterday for therapy despite going on pause for 4 weeks. I haven't contacted my therapist during the pause, and yesterday I've cancelled my membership as I no longer need therapy. I've contacted the customer service email but I haven't heard anything. I didn't even get a receipt about the enquiry or nothing.

The company is great, useful, and answer all my questions and the response timing via email is great. If I have a financial question, it is almost immediately catered too. :)

Fantasia Johnson (BetterHelp therapist) helped me achieve my initial therapy goals in a much quicker time than I expected. She helped me learn numerous ways to cope with stress & situational anxiety/depression & learn how to manage ADHD symptoms. With her help, I was able to reduce my work hours significantly (reducing tons of overtime down to a regular 40-hour work week). This in turn has helped improve my work-life balance, work performance reviews, decreased my stress levels, and made me a much happier person. Fantasia uses a variety of approaches to help me meet my goals. She is a good listener and a kind person. I appreciate her light-hearted, fun approach when the timing is appropriate; this is one of many reasons that I look forward to our therapy sessions. Absolutely amazing the most value I got an easier accessible platform just works and is the most helpful I've gotten in years

Therapy has always been something that felt so daunting. "My problems aren't big enough to go to an office and see a professional." BetterHelp has really created a platform where finding a good therapist that works for you. The flexibility of not having to go to an actual office was very helpful for me, mom of two. I also think the ability to switch therapists if your current therapist isn't working, is a great feature that eliminates, or at least lessens, the stress of trying to find the right fit. Even though, the intro questionnaire did a great job pairing me off the bat. The access to message your therapist between sessions for particularly rough days has also helped me multiple times. All these benefits and the price is very reasonable for what all you're getting. I have seen a huge improvement in my own functioning since starting BetterHelp. Highly recommend.

I have had experience with regular BetterHelp usage in the last 4 years, switching through 3 therapists, and I would recommend this therapy app to everyone. It was my first therapy experience ever, and I started in an extremely difficult place of my life when I could not even leave the house. Starting therapy for terrifying at that point and I felt very skeptical about doing it online, but I would take whatever helped. My first therapists helped me a ton, and since my issue was also seriously health-related, supported me in eventually getting to the doctor's office to get medical help. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise. I switched therapists after feeling much better and wanting to be pushed and challenged more. In my next therapist, I got just that, which felt already a bit too challenging for me, so with the third one I found the golden balance x) I think it's necessary to keep in mind that just like in IRL therapy, you may need to find a therapists that suits you particularly. Either way, all therapists I have had felt very respectful and qualified, always made me feel taken care of. Same about those who lead group sessions which I attend almost every week. The only complaint I could have is very occasional app malfunctions on the weekends (happened to me up to 3 times per year). I would absolutely say it's worth it, and I won't exaggerate saying that I don't know if I still would be here otherwise.

Amazing multifaceted care for the mind. I just wish I didn’t have so much going on right now unless I’d be able to afford long term therapy. I was skeptical but Better Help is the truth.
