I got a loan through this bank when I bought my RV. I try to set up automatic payments and I have to call my bank and tell them that I want them to take it out and put it in my savings account from BECU. They do not take payments over the phone. You have to send "coupons " and a check for the easiest way to make a payment. How back in times is that!! Had I known how difficult this was I would have NOT gotten a loan from them.

BECU is the worst most overthinking bank ever!! I was denied a loan with an 821 credit score! 821!!! I will never seek a loan through them again!

Had a joint loan with BECU with my ex on an RV. Divorce papers stated my ex was supposed to keep the rv, but he never refinanced. RV loan was defaulted by my ex, and it’s now on my credit report. BECU is continuously reporting this same loan under different account numbers to the credit bureau constantly tanking my credit score by 90pts. I’ve finally had it removed recently and BECU resubmitted it again as a new account. It is against the law to report the same debt twice!!!!! The loan was not sold or transferred. It’s the same exact loan/closed account. That is u lawful and must be removed. First time I can see it was possibly a mistake but this is now the second time after I just had it removed. Unscrupulous practices, violate FAIR DEBT COLLECTION practices and violate law on FAIR CREDIT ACT. Do not do business with them at all costs!!!!!

I've used BECU for seven years, and have found them to be an upstanding institution. There are very few fees, they do everything in their power to make sure you're treated right, and their app & web interface are top notch. I haven't used them for home nor auto loans, but can vouch for checking, savings, credit card & cash back, and personal loans. In-person service is also always excellent and helpful.

Great institution overall, conservative use of money and good reserves. However, they seem to have no ability to maintain the messenger function on their app. It is not working about 80% of the time in my experience. This makes it very difficult to communicate with them on the road, without my PC, and without having to call. I have repeatedly informed them of this, despite running the latest version of the app, etc., and it never gets a fix that lasts.

I’ve tried to assume the loan for my current residence that I’ve been living in and paying the mortgage since going through divorce for the past year and a half.From Day one, working with Darlene Adams, who just refused to give any explanation at all of how the process works or why I was denied, to Linda Steele who blatantly stated that their department was understaffed And no one cares if or when they get back to people because they aren’t paying overtime anymore since Covid was dying down, my opinion could been totally different if just one of them had clearly communicated some parameters or expectations. I paid $45,000.00 towards my principal, re- amortized the loan with orders from a Judge for my ex husband to comply and applied again And I was still denied. My mortgage payment currently is 2463.40 at 3.875% for 16 years 9 mo left. I’ve applied for a new loan, also through BECU, and have been approved. The payment of the new loan I was approved for is 2382.00 at 6% interest for 30 years. A whole 81.40 difference. Can you explain how someone can be disqualified for a whole 81$? Couldn’t I of just put down more money towards my mortgage to reduce the payment more? Any amount of communication would have been so appreciative from Cenlar but it just never happens. All attempts at communication from ANY other BECU staff is just that “I don’t work in that department so I do not know.” How about, can I talk to someone who does know the answer ?

BECU is the worst financial institution that I have ever used. Communication is terrible. Wait times on the phone and in the bank are ridiculous. Customer service is worthless. I can't wait to close my accounts with BECU.

Do not do international Wire transfers, my Money never made it. They got the zip wrong and said “ oh it doesn’t matter “ Terrible customer service about wires, zero accountability for money sent to outer space apparently and no help to find sent money (that never made it) “We communicate electronically and we may never hear back from the bank to see if funds were picked up “, “all We can do is keep trying electronically “ Save yourself headache, go anywhere else ! they outsource wires through Wells Fargo
