Buyer Beware!
On Oct 22 I took my 4-year-old Samsung S7 to the Concord NH store for a battery replacement. The new battery ran down faster than the original. I returned on Nov 11 to complain and ask for a refund. I was told I was using too many apps & thus draining the phone more rapidly. This was not true because I was using the phone in exactly the same manner I had for the previous four years. l returned again on Nov 26 and asked for a refund- the battery was depleting even more rapidly. I was offered a 50% refund, which I declined, saying I wanted a full refund. I called the store twice today (Dec 5th). An associate said he could offer no refund (strange, a few weeks ago I was offered a 50% refund). I told him I was placing the credit card transaction in dispute. The manager (probably the franchise owner) called me back. I told him, that if I did not receive a refund I would place the issue in dispute with my credit card issuer. Still, no refund was offered so the dispute is now working its way through the process. It is unfortunate that they will not stand behind their work. Obviously everything they do does not turn out like this, but when something does not go well they should rectify the complaint. The two takeaways from this are: First: Always use a credit card. You are at least sure of a process that may resolve the problem. Second: If possible avoid doing business with small mom and pop outfits. Even though this appears to be a nationwide organization, it is a franchise. You are dealing with an individual franchisee, just another little mom and pop operation, not with a large corporation, like Sears, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Buyer beware!
