I took the battery from my Honda Odyssey to Batteries Plus in Webster Groves because it was not holding a charge. Owen said it was in warranty (under 2 years old), but he would need to keep it 2-3 days to check it. After not hearing anything for 4 days, I returned to the store to follow up. He said the warranty was void because the car sat in my garage for over 2 weeks while I was on vacation 9 months ago. Really???

I HAD A 2 YO BATTERY THAT TEST BAD BY 3 SHOPS. FORD , BATTERIES PLUS IN OTANGE CITY AND BATTERIES PLUS IN SANFORD. BATTERIES PLUS AGREED IT WAS BAD AND WOULD BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE UNDER WARRANTY. ORANGE CITY STORE DID NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK SO WENT TO SANFORD. I WAS TOLD FROM SANFORD STORE THAT IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 DAYS FOR WARRANTY CLAIM TO GO THROUGH...OFFERED ME A LOANER BATTERY. DOES THIS SOUND RIDICULOUS OR IS IT JUST ME???...JUST REPLACE THE DAMN BATTERY AS PROMISED IN ORIGINAL WARRANTY!!!

Batteries
Batteries, Watts & Things, LLC violates the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and GA Fair Business Practices Act through deceptive warranty exclusions and record manipulation.
1. Warranty Bait-and-Switch: On 10/21/25, I bought a $276.52 Duracell AGM battery. My original receipt (#P86486208) guarantees a "Full Warranty Until 10/21/2029" barring actual "abuse or negligence," with NO mention of voltage cutoffs. When it failed at 11 months, employee James (JWB) voided the warranty citing an unadvertised flyer (BP00928) that arbitrarily deems any open circuit voltage under 10.0V as "improper maintenance". Redefining a mechanical failure as "neglect" via a hidden post-sale technicality is unlawful.
2. Stale Inventory & Defect Evidence: The battery hit a hard 6.5V charging ceiling on the store's tester, proving a shorted internal cell (a manufacturing defect). Furthermore, the physical label shows a 2024 manufacturing date, proving the merchant sold me stale inventory that sat degrading on a shelf for up to a year. AutoZone independently tested the disconnected battery at a 0% State of Charge (BAD BATTERY). My new replacement battery holds a perfect 12.78V overnight, physically disproving their claim of a vehicle parasitic draw.
3. Record Manipulation & Evasion: Employee James (JWB) typed fabricated remarks on invoices P94959933 and P94959827 to manufacture an excuse for denial, and defensively weaponized the LLC's "veteran-owned" status to deflect my valid claims as a disabled veteran. Owner Jane Watts markets her military service, yet her franchise hides behind a corporate 1-800 number to handle public complaints. Despite daily calls over 5 consecutive days, owners Jane Watts, June Riner, and Darla Carter refused to respond.

Z2 lithium battery
Had a little over a year on a 36 month battery, they said voltage to low so it voided warranty. Beware of them and practices.

Bought two replacement batteries for my key fobs and didn't get the warranty batteries because of how much h extra they were. My battery didn't last a year in the fob I use everyday and when I went to use my backup fob It was dead after never being touched. The batteries were already expensive but to not last a year is ridiculous. Im positive they sold me used / old batteries. I told my daughter about it and she said the same thing happened to her. Garbage company. Won't ever be back .

Bought a battery for riding lawnmower…
Bought a battery for riding lawnmower and they did not have correct battery in stock, but had one that would work they said. Yes,it did work, but for a very short period of time, always have to connect battery charger constantly to be able to start riding lawnmower. Finally had,had enough and carried battery back to try and resolve issue, but was told that it only comes with a very short warranty, sorry about your luck, but we screwed you good and there is not a damn thing we will do for you. Stay away from them, crooked as hell,go to someone that is honest and trust worthy.

Batteries Plus complaint to share a warning about…
I wanted to share a warning about Batteries Plus in Pineville regarding their return policy and customer service.
We recently needed a new battery and a tune-up for our generator. The sales clerk at Batteries Plus recommended a specific battery, which we purchased. We took the generator and the battery to a repair shop on Johnson Road. It took the shop 15 days to look at it, at which point they informed us that the battery recommended by the Batteries Plus sale clerk did not fit our generator.
When we attempted to return the unopened battery to Batteries Plus, they refused to issue a refund or accept an exchange. The manager also reviewed the situation and upheld the refusal. They cited two reasons:
1. We were one day past their 14-day return window.
2. They claimed they could not accept a return on a dead battery (though they offered a warranty exchange for another one). (NOTE: The battery had lost its charge while sitting on the shelf)
To make matters worse, the correct battery we actually need is half the price of the one the clerk originally sold us.
Please be sure to double-check any battery before making a purchase from them, as their return policy is very strict and they did not accommodate a mistake made by their own staff and selling us a bad battery. Ask yourself, are they about profit or customer service.
