**Update: DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO THEIR PET PLAN!!! I tried to cancel it (after paying $39 a month For 12 years and usually paying more out of pocket, for one reason or another, every visit) Only to be told I have a balance of $162 for a dental procedure that was done in January. The cleaning was “covered,” but because they had to pull some teeth, I still owed a balance. I paid almost $500 out of pocket for that visit, so it didn’t make any sense as to why I owed them anything. I was then told that my plan didn’t end until December, so they would be charging my credit card until then. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! Don’t do it!!!! After being loyal to this office for 12 years, I’ve had enough. They are no longer doing face to face vet appointments and only drop off appointments. They schedule ENTIRELY too many people in one day, therefore pets are kept in kennels ALL DAY LONG. IT took 25 minutes to check in and after 7 hours of waiting for a phone call, I called and they said that they were waiting for test results to come back. An hour later, I showed up to pick up my little dog (still hadn’t gotten a phone call) and when I got there, they told me they he was next to be seen. THE DOCTOR STILL HAD NOT SEEN HIM, so they LIED to me on the phone. This happens EVERY time I drop him off. They always use the same excuse of having sooooo many surgeries and sick pets (that they over scheduled), even when you give them a specific pick up time, it’s always 1-2 hours after that because of their incompetence. I will never put my baby through that stress again, with their redundant excuses and their inability to properly schedule a manageable amount of pets for one day. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

Banfield has a reputation of being sort of a McDonalds of Veterinary Hospitals -- they exist everywhere and they'll do in a pinch if nothing else is available. Some of them are good, some of them are lousy; I've been to both. The said, there are those occasional treasures that rise above the mixed-bag brand name to deliver a service that is nothing short of exceptional. Shawnee Mission Banfield is such an institution. These vets will go above and beyond to take care of your furry family member. If something is wrong, they will turn over every stone and search every obscure possibility to figure out what needs to be done and, in the off-chance they don't have the solution, they will get you in contact with the specialist who does. They will celebrate the milestones and they will hold your hand through the hurt. They have been our vet for 6 years now, and it is so important to have a team that knows your animals, prioritizes their needs, listens to your observations, and will stick it out with you till the bitter end. Granted that many of the negative reviews pertaining to Banfield as a whole are probably not wrong. However, if there's even a chance that your local Banfield is staffed with the quality of veterinary excellence that can be found at Shawnee Mission Kansas than it is well worth the look.

Worst place to take a pet. Got up at 7am to take my cat in. They wouldn't take him because I wasn't on the account, even though my husband told them I would be dropping him off, so I went back home,woke my husband up just so he could call them and was told by the dumbest woman ever that we didn't need to speak to her that way. This place is horrible and I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

I already wrote about my nightmare experience with this garbage place called Banfield Hospital which they are far away to be a hospital. I wrote about how I lost my best friend Vida. If I could I would give Banfield the 0 stars. I was a 10 years customers. My dog was so healthy that I barely used them. Because of Banfield malpractice I lost my baby Vida. The 5 days that she became ill , Banfield vet not only killed my dog but also left me totally alone to take care of my loved one when she most was in need of her help. I do not mind repeat myself DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET to Banfield. PLEASE Sign the petition sign.moveon.org we need to send this Banfield soon to court.

I'd give a 0 if I could. Worst experience. Took my dog in for a scratch on his eyelid. They dont give you a printed receipt. They have you look on a portal. I never have looked at past invoices, trusting them. Before the virus you could wait for your Dog and be present when your pet is examined. Due to the pandemic they have you leave your pet. I needed a copy of his vaccines for day care and found multiple things done to my dog without my permission. Talked to the manager and he added services back to my wellness plan. My concern, how can they possibly think it's okay to do anything to my dog without my permission. No one even discussed with me when I picked him up. Questionable business practices. This is what was done without my knowledge. Remember he had a scratched eyelid. I had to bring it to her attention that I pay for it by purchasing wellness program. Waiting on call from corporate office and want all my money back. I'd rather pay more and be able to trust my vet with my fur baby with my dogs best interest and wellbeing first in mind.

In the mist of this life altering pandemic I was turned over to collections as of May 26th, 2020. No consideration for this trying time and its impact on all. No calls, letters- email and I am on the application tool but no. No concern No understanding or options. We have been apart of Banfield since 201. Established many many years ago but Banfield - is the ONLY company that during this pandemic did not offer a understanding and compassionate disposition enlight of the state many are experiencing. We received email, letters and communication expressing compassion and consideration. We never emailed me or sent a bill (if there were issues) - we went back to check spam and junk. Like many other families we were negatively impacted. I received a substantially large collection agency bill - the only extremely action of all the obligations we are apart of Only Banfield's extreme demands. Rude and Demanding not seeking to keep the relationship and clear up the miscommunication We have draft this letter to the BBB and 3 of our consumer advocacy outlets stations to run this story from our disposition. Prior to drafting this email / and the letters to your corporate office I called in an effort to resolve and reinstate our account make it right ( provide the new card information) and was offered no compassion or interest to do so. This is frustrating- disheartening that we will move our pets service and and recommend on social media platforms ,our neighborhood portal, work, friends and family do the same due to Banfields lack of communication, uncaring / flexible customer service practices and very insensitive stance after years upon years of service. I will highly recommend use of compassionate and understanding local vets and community practice. We will miss Dr Harris and Staff - that's it! Plain old GREED no empathy

For 11 years I have been a positive promoter for Banfield, telling all of my friends and colleagues they should take their pets to this company. 11 years of paying for wellness plans, moving my records from town to town and always a positive experience. But a few days ago, it was obvious that my dog was critically ill. I begged them to give me an appointment, and they said they were booked and to "call around to other Banfield hospitals". I called ten Banfield in my area and all were booked, despite the urgency of the need. In the end I was told to go to an emergency pet hospital, which I did. As a result, my dog crossed the bridge in a strange place, with a vet he'd never seen before (they were amazing at the Univ. of Minnesota Small Animal Hospital, by the way). I have never been so disappointed in a service or a company. After being so loyal to them, after counting on them for the regular things, when the real need came, they were not there for me, or for Rocky. When I called to cancel my monthly service (after 35 minutes on hold), they said they were sorry for my loss and told me that I owed them $136 for cancelling the plan. Cold, corporate, profit-mongering. If you need anal glands expressed, this is your place, but when something important or emergent is happening, go anywhere else. I will now take every opportunity, in any available forum, to tell this story. Rocky deserved much better.

Biggest mistake I ever made was to put my dog on their wellness plan.
