Yes hi my name is Teresa I am a customer of Banfield pet Hospital of Raleigh Creedmoor 6300 Creedmoor Rd. Suite 104 Raleigh, NC 27612. I would like to share my experience experiences first of all the staff at the hospital is great I would like to give a shout out to Emaly Bobbitt, CVT Veterinary Technician Dr. Jordan Dallin Alicia Jessica Natalie Ema This right here if I missed anyone I’m very sorry but this right here is an awesome team. The moment you walk in you are greeted in your pet is welcomed. I gave them five stars because they are going by the rules they’re clean and they make sure that you stay clear because of Covid you wear your mask now I know that it may take a little bit more time but they are doing it the right way and when it is your turn The staff the team they give you all their time and when you are in front of them they’ll answer any questions help you understand Whatever it is you need to understand I really do appreciate that. I have been going there for a while taking my dog mocha there they have been very very good I have seen them work so hard and not even take a break or not even get off till later maybe work almost a double shift the way the things are going with the Covitt they all have each other‘s back. Also these people really care about the animals mine yours they’re going to do their best to take make sure they’re OK. I want to tell you that Dr. Emily Bobbitt, CVT Doc. Veterinary Technician. This is a very very special person she puts her heart out there meaning she gives the time that each animal needs the care she wants every animal to have the best chance they can have and she does so much she is a to be appreciated. I really admire how she takes time for each of her patients and Their owners . My dog mocha had to have surgery and she explained everything to me what we needed to do and how we needed to do it then she also give me examples. she knows what she’s talking about and I trust and the staff at Banfield.I do you see some reviews about how you have to wait and such but I wanna tell you because of this coronavirus everything takes more time and a lot of people are not at their jobs right now but the staff here, even I believe if they have to come in and work overtime and do whatever they need to do. They have not forgot why they were at their job they care about our animals they want us to know what’s going on I really appreciate that. If you are looking for a good pet hospital somebody who’s gonna look after your animals somebody who’s gonna make sure whatever it is that they need their gonna take care of it and it will be OK this is the place.

I was stuck with their wellness plan for 2 years, since their staff is very quick to try and suggest as many tests and services as possible to charge you more and at that point it’s cheaper for you to just keep their subscription. If you’re in that situation I recommend you to just pay in full and never bring your pet with them again. Their vets don’t care about pets, they just see it as numbers. My dog is diabetic and I was told to stop the medication he was in from a vet out of country (Ecuador) without them giving me any replacement for it. He ended up becoming blind and his condition worsening much more than before. I tried to visit different locations with no luck since each one was just as worse as the previous one. Up to the point where my dog had to be hospitalized resulting in a $1k bill in December 2021, when he was scheduled for his teeth cleaning and it had to be cancelled due to him being too weak. The teeth cleaning is the only reason the cost of the yearly plan makes sense in the first place but we weren’t able to use it. They will make it so difficult to get out of their subscription- I made it clear I didn’t want to renew this coming year but when I saw the charge in my card and called them to explain I hadn’t used any of their services this year +what a horrible experience I’ve had and just wanted a refund. They were “nice” until they realized I didn’t want to ever use their services anymore and said (and I quote) “if you have Netflix but didn’t watch it, they wouldn’t refund you”. Excuse me how can you compare a streaming service with veterinary services??? It goes to show how they see it as a business more than the well-being of your pet.

I took my dog Buttons to Banfield Pet Hospital on January 29th my dog could not breath, her breath was shallow, she was not eating or going to the bathroom. We a vet who prescribed anitibiotics and heart medication said she had water around her heart and an infection in her lungs. That visit cost $649.41. There was no improvement in her condition we felt she was getting worse I took her back to Banfield on February 8th. Never was it mentioned that my dog was in heart failure. We were asked to put Buttons on a Optimun Wellness Plan even after I offered to pay for the visit myself. Had we known she was dying we never would of gotten the plan I felt pressured to get it. Again prescribed over $100.00 worth of medication that my dog could not even swollow. She then charged me 303.61 I called the hospital spoke to a vet nurse who told me my dog was in heart failure I responded we were never told that and I did not know what to do at this point. On Friday February 11 I called Banfield and told them my dog was dying I needed to bring her in to be euthanized. Which we did it cost me $129.76 I was scammed for not letting my husband and I upfront that my dog was dying there was no need for the medication, frequent visits or Optimum Wellness Plan. I called Banfield 888-649-2716 pacific time on Friday as I understand I had 3 days in which to cancel the plan. I called at 4:30 their time and they did not answer the phone. Today Nicole from Banfield told me that they stopped taking phone called in the que because there were too many. Banfield is also closed on the weekends. Banfield wants $186.88 to cancel the plan I don't feel that I should have to pay when they knew my dog was dying. So far I have paid $1092.77 for unnecessary visits, medication and a plan that was not needed. I am asking Banfield to cancel the plan with no further payment from me. Which they have refused to do so so I filed a complaint with the BBB

I have been reluctant because I really hate to say anything bad about anyone. However, my elderly, small Maltese was severely and permanently damaged when we took her in for her regular teeth cleaning. When we picked her up 8 hours later (and I HATE doing that!), she had a terrible, aweful, hacking, gasping cough. We didn’t drop her off that way. After 24 hours of trying to see if it would “go away,” ad the Vet said, we had to take her back in. Needless to say, over $600 later, and a permanent damaged dog, it was determined they had literally ripped a hole in her esophagus. Is this normal? Routine?? Why? And when it was determined that YOU did this, I still had to pay for all the extra damage you did. Why? Yeah. She hasn’t been back. And when we talked to corporate Banfield, they refused to refund the expense even after they admitted it was their fault, saying it was “routine” for that to happen to small dogs. No. Just no. Ever. Again. Never. If you want to follow up with me, since already got your stance on no refund, just send a check.

I no longer take my Jack Russell to Banfield. But I can't get them to stop billing me for my dog ($44.95 month). You can't get thru to them when you call. This is a very bad practice. I switched to a "normal" vet practice and am Sooooooooooo happy I did. Be careful if you sign up with them because they will bill you forever.

They Rescheduled my 4 dogs appointment then when we all got there, that’s too bad they said, you missed your appt at 1:30. I said that was my appointment time but someone called and changed it to 4, which is now. They said that didn’t happen and I would have to reschedule. The front desk woman was extremely unprofessional and rude. She began raising her voice to me so, I am not proud to say, I raised my voice. At the end the majority of Banfield staff were standing at the counter saying very ugly things about me and to me; I could barley hear. I admit my behavior could have been more calm but it was me against 5 employees. The special comment was from the nasty blond who said if I hadn’t been so rude they would have gotten all my dogs in. Ironic comment considering the first older woman gave NO hope of that happening. Lesson I learned, as a paying customer (of 5 pets) I’m automatically wrong and the Banfield mob will gang up on you if you dare question them. A true accomplishment for any service related business. Even the doctor walked away from me. If I could give a 0 or lower I would.

I stupidly have my 2 cats seen here, one that is 11 years old, so I brought her in for “6 month wellness visit” and was concerned about her loss of weight and constant eating, and was told “this is normal behavior for a Bengal,” then she started vomiting and having diarrhea 2 months later, so brought her back in and $220 in lab work later (and also this vet mistaking my cat with another animal by telling me about a stool sample that we did not provide), they referred me to get an abdominal ultrasound (another $475), which gave us no answers as to what was going on with her either. I spoke to the doctor and let him know she is now getting weak, so he promised a call the following day with pricing for more testing and prescriptions for Prednisolone and B12, but no call back so I called and left a message that afternoon and the following day and receive a call back from a receptionist that the doctor was in yesterday and didn’t call me back and is out for the next 4 days and no other vet there will treat my animal because they haven’t seen her in 6 months, my cat is here 7.5 pounds (4 pounds I under weight) and eating everything in the house and has to suffer another 4 days because of the neglect of this vet!!!! Do not bring your animals here! It’s a good deal if your animals are healthy, but once your pet has any issues you will likely spend all your savings on tests that are not definitive and a vet that couldn’t care less to return your calls as promised!!!
