Worst customer service I have ever experienced
I am VERY dissappointed about your customer service. I sent 5 emails, some of them a week ago. I called 3 times, was in the waiting line for over 25 minutes and then someone just hung up on me! What is this? I have been a lifelong customer and now when a product was already open and spilled all over my box and I need a replacement or at least help nobody seems to be responsible? Never again will I buy here, this is the worst customer service i have experienced in my life.

PESSIMO!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I bought the Invati line because it was advertising improvement of thinning hair and it took my hair out. I reached out to the customer service and she said to continue to use it because it would get better. Well it got worse. So worse...I stopped using it of course. I took before pictures and I cried...my hair was already thinning...now these products have made me bald. I am very disappointed.

Vergognosi !!
Vergognosi !

What's up with Aveda? Crap quality, overpriced, stinky, not earth-conscious, rips off loyal customers
First one: their products stink. Some smell awesome, but a LOT of them stink so bad I can't use them...most of the hairsprays I had to sell because they would give me a headache. I tried at least two or three of their hairsprays. The plastic pump one would get clogged.
I went into the Southcenter Mall Aveda store to redeem a certificate for a personalized fragrance: It was absolutely disgusting. Also, the young man who helped me (this was some time ago) was snobby, like I was inconveniencing him by being there. I ordered through the mail exclusively after that.
The attitude of the typical Aveda employee (there were a few exceptions) was why I was in no hurry to use the $75 gift certificate which I would have gotten with my 10,000+ points I'd acquired on their Pure Privilege program (which cost $10 to join).
They deactivated the account and there's nothing I can do to cash in the points for stuff like the cheesy jewelry they offered, products, hairbrushes, or the gift certificate at an Aveda salon. I didn't like them so much (and I went to quite a few in WA: Tacoma, Lakewood, Spokane), I was going to give it to my mom. But I never redeemed my points. So I lost my points because I didn't make a purchase within two years. I know I agreed to the terms, but it seems really lame that they couldn't, say, contact me and let me know they were about to expire. I check my email daily...I would hope they would send the Pure Privilege ones out from a different email address because they send like, one a day or once every other day. It's overkill. I'm pretty sure they bugged me and I was pissed at them so I blocked their emails. They were piling up. But still. I searched through my emails and found nothing letting me know my points would expire.
I've been a fan for over 20 years when Aveda salons were few and far between. The quality of the products has changed dramatically in that time. They used to be extremely concentrated, now they are more and more watered down. It was crazy how often they changed the formula on the Damage Remedy leave-in conditioner that I really liked because it is super light. But they added water. And more water. And the price only goes up, and it gets thinner. So I was pissed at them and bought some hair stuff off Etsy where it's actually handmade, concentrated, and not from ingredients made in a lab. Also, Aveda was acquired by Estee Lauder in 1997, the previous owner grew some of the ingredients for Aveda products on his farm, I'm sure none were after 1997.
Aveda acts like they are "earth-conscious" when they are the opposite. Their claims of "wind energy" is laughable. Otherwise, they would not make so many plastic products that have to be thrown away instead of being able to recycle it?
The name, cribbed from "Ayurveda" with no attrition to East Asian culture. I guess I wanted to be separated from them, and now I will be, for life!
