the customer service is THE WORST, I had to call for help due to issues on online form, the lady got stuck on last page & told me to hang on & she will look into it, well 40 minutes later i hung up, called lifeline support within a few minutes he did what the lady did not know what to do, i had to call them back, well after awhile lady said her phone breaks up, she took my phone # to call me back, she had to re-boot her computer, it was before afternoon & she never called back, then i get a e-mail saying i didn't finish my application & I WILL NOT!! I am going with another co.

Scam, abusive, and fraud.
Well, where do i start? I have gotten 3 phones from this company and each of them had the EXACT same problem. Defective batteries. These phones are shipped in from China for cheap cheap cheap. They have two models they use, SV55 and UMX. Both are defective and come with defective batteries. Their UMX model has been caught with spyware preloaded within the system itself and cannot be removed. the SV55 is loaded with bloatware that cannot be removed and if you do, it literally kills your network connection to Assurance wireless so you need to keep the bloatware running and working.
This company is 100% defrauding the US ACP/Lineline program. I highly believe it may be a front from China to syphon money into China.

My dad received the free service in…
My dad received the free service in October 2022, with in 2 months they sent a letter that stated on 2/28/2023 the service will be discontinued due to they can not verify his income. Funny he is on SS and all documents were sent. I then called they said everything was good that was a mistake. Then February arrives and he gets a text that states they have paid for March. Well on 2/28/2023 they phone is disconnected. I call they say the phone is discontinued due to inavtivity. Well On his app of his account it states quit the opposite. They say well we were have you back up in 24 hours. 24 hours comes I call. Now I have to re apply for him. Now it will take 1 week for a new phone. We dont need a new phone we got the upgrade. they did not care. So then I transfer his number to my line at Verizon. So 4 days, 9 hours later, and hung up on serveral time, switch from person to person to repeat the same info, Verizon helped me fix this whole mess. So we finally got him up and running. Now, what I did not tell you is that my dad is elderly and has stage 4 cancer, I express all this to everyone I spoke to this is a game at every corner. The people whom scam this service and how ever they bill the company is all a waste of tax payers money. My dad really need this, so thank you US government for again failing our system.

I have been with assurance wireless since 2014 but...
I have been with assurance wireless since 2014 and for the first 5 or 6 years it was fine, I only had to call customer service once when my phone broke after 5 years, And as I had no phone to call, I corresponded with an agent via email. $5.00 for shipping and I was sent a new phone. Of course, this was when they were part of sprint. Then T-Mobile took them over and since then nothing but issues.
first I was told via text I had to order a sim card for my phone, I went online to do that and was told they were out of sim card and to try back. a week later I tried again, now I'm told my phone is no longer supported and I need a new one. They sent me a shok volt. 6 months later the charging port on my phone broke and I need a new one, now they have no email address to correspond with so it's either borrow a phone or send a letter the old-fashioned way. I was told me 6-month-old phone was no longer under warranty and it was $40 for a new phone. They sent me another shok volt. Then in late December I received a text saying due to a technical glitch a number of accounts were deleted and to keep my lifeline service I needed to reapply. I at first ignored the message till I got a letter in the mail stating the same thing. And for my trouble they are going to give me a free phone. I filled out the application and got a confirmation number but when I called customer service so they could finish the process as the letter said to do, I was told by the agent that it didn't pertain to me and to disregard the letter.
So then about a month later (Feb 7th 2023) what happens? The charging port breaks again on my 6-month-old shok volt. I call and am told by an agent a new phone is $9.99. I asked him if he is sure because I was prepared to pay $40.00 like last time. Yes, he said he is sure. 3-5 business days is what I was told. A week later, no phone I call back, got another agent. Was told my order was cancelled because instead of $9.99 it is $65.00 for a new phone. So, I borrowed $65.00 and uploaded it to my account. Called back to order a new phone. Now I'm told due to a technical glitch I qualify for a free phone, same as the letter stated, you know the one that didn't pertain to me. He had me go online and fill out the application but as I already did that it wouldn't let me finish. so I called back ordered a phone from a different agent. The money was taken from my account was told another 3-5 business days and here another week later still no phone, now it is going on nearly a month. I called again yesterday. Was given the spill about a technical glitch, free phone yada yada another 3*5 business days. I did give her the confirmation number for the application I filled out however the way she abruptly ended the call I fear she was blowing smoke, and, in a week, I will end up calling back. Also, I confirmed with my sister who I borrowed the money from that Assurance wireless did indeed charge her card back on February 15th.

They are a bunch of ignorant people
They are the absolute worse business out there. They should be run out of business. Foreigners can’t even speak good English and are so rude and even go as far as hanging up on you. They are charging the federal government to give out free phones by the way are junk and for us poor people for free phone service. And in return poor very poor service along with their junk phones that half the time don’t work. They are crooks and liars. People go with another phone service company. Try TruConnect I did they seem ok right now…we’ll see.
Ass…urance is nothing but major problems. People don’t deal with these free cell phone companies they are free for a reason. You will live your life in sheer misery take my word on it.

Got approved/sucks
Got approved, they sent me a phone pretty quickly. Service worked great for 2 days. On the 3rd day we woke up and the phone was turned off with a message saying "sorry you no longer qualify for this service " wth changed in 3 days time? I've had to reapply and haven't heard anything from them at all. Is this a joke?

Got a reassigned phone number belonging to a deadbeat
Signed up for Lifeline service through Assurance Wireless. Online application was very easy to fill out, approval came quickly as did the phone. Was given clear instructions how to activate it which I did effortlessly. The problem? Was given a reassigned phone number that previously belonged to a deadbeat who owes everybody. She’s also a religious fanatic and when I’m not spending all day blocking calls from debt collectors from all over the country—I’m deleting text messages quoting bible verses. Assurance Wireless is the third phone carrier I’ve tried to get Lifeline phone service from—and the third one I’ve had problems with. TruConnect sent me a phone that didn’t even work; and Safelink kept threatening to cut off my service because they claimed I wasn’t using my phone at least once every 30 days— when in fact, I was on my phone multiple times a day every day. Now I’m having to deal with a barrage of harassing phone calls and texts meant for somebody else. These free government phones aren’t worth the misery!

Excelent Customer Service
I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. When I have a complaint about a company I write about it, but also when I’m happy with a service provided to me. I’ve had my free service through them for approximately 4 1/2 years. The coverage’s excellent. Internet works great. Texts and calls are surprisingly reliable. Phones are for free, so, they’re not the best. They broke down on three occasions within a year each, and every time a replacement was promptly sent to me. Here comes the best part: Customer Service is the best in the business. You can speak to a live operator in seconds or in a couple of minutes. I haven’t found one yet that is not courteous, efficient, and very friendly. I called for assorted reasons, from simple questions to hard technical issues. No problem! Now I replaced the last cheap phone they sent me with a good T-Mobile one (The Network they use) and my worries ended. Even HotSpot on the street from my phone to my computer works amazingly fast and well. I widely recommend this company.
