Terrible phone products and terrible service they had to give me the cheapest phone that holds no memory it doesn't even allow me to download any popular apps in my calls get dropped all the time I spend too much time being on hold listening to music and then finally getting connected to customer service and then getting disconnected and that's how all my phone calls are regardless if I have Wi-Fi calling or not

Their customer service is of the lower order. Most of their agents struggle with basic English. Even when you're able to communicate the problem, they're usually unable to get it resolved and give word salad explanations. They put my account in a limbo status saying that I needed to get recertified, which I did, but then they were simply unable to make it so my account was usable. I made the mistake of putting money on the account to keep it from being deleted altogether, but even this fell prey to their constantly disconnecting the service. In the end they ended up ripping me off for the money I put on the account to keep it from being completely disconnected.

Id give less if I could. I haveI contacted Assurance (the company with which lifeline connected me to get phone) on FB DM. The first contact was August 29, 2026 when I advised them the phone did not work.In the span of approximateky 10 days (the dm is not giving me the dates.) we went back and foirth and back and forth. The pin I had written down did not work and they told me theen they couldn;t "authenticate my account. They kept asking me the same questions repeatedly. Did I have another phone I could use, No I only have a landline which is why I applied for Lifeline. Could i go find someone who did. No I could not. All this repeatedly told to them. I also repeatedly gave them my name, address, email address, and date of birth for verification. nevertheless they contiunued to tell me they couldnt authenticate my account. They tried a number of times to call my landline which, due to cable issues, did not ring. I had to tell them again repeatedly before they did so, to leave a message on voicemail so I can verify the call came through. This they did more than 8 times. Still tat didnt suffice. This is getting very long so let me get to the finish line. Finally they told me they would send me an email, which they could have done the first day and my receipt of it verified the account. Then they told me they would send me a new pin and that would verify the account so they could finally send me the sim card which was missing when the phone was received. I got the code, for that too they said ok its now authenticated. They could have sent a new pin the first or second day and not needed to put me tourhg all this. Assurance went out of its way to not be able to send me the SIM card which I should have received with the phone. (Years ago when I first went on Lifeline I went with them and received a phone that was working as soon as I got it) Assurance caused me to not have the emergency phone with me when needed, ie I had no lifeline that were supposed to supply in working form. It is now 5 weeks later. still dealing with them and almost every other time they ask me again my name zip code, assurance phone number which I dont have because this phone is not working) They have all the info repeatedly but they have to keep asking me anyway. The phone they sent this time, after finally got SIM card doesnt have any way for me to turn it off so everytime I try and turn it on the battery is dead. They told me to call the "vender" since it doesn't come from them and vender then told me to call Assurance. They seem to be doing everything to ensure I dont get the lifeline phone I think you need to know that Assurance is not reliable. at least when it comes to the lifeline program and phone. Thank you (I have eye pain disorder so I apologize for typos. BTW I had to tell them that repeatedly because of the amount and length of DMs they sent me.)

Nothing but lies from this business. I applied for the SS free phone. They took all my info and sent me a SIM card and NO Phone And did NOT Tell me I wouldn't get a phone! With my medical situation this Put me in a place noone should ever have to be. My attorney and family have already been notified in case something happens to me due to not getting the call from my hospital for the Daily treatment I receive to Live. I missed my treatment today 10/08/2026, if I miss tomorrow because of their Lying to me I'll probably not be alive within the next 36 hours. Good job Assurance Good job! DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS PHONE SERVICE Because That $40 or so they get paid for this lifeline phone IS Worth someone dying over.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO BENEFIT TO BUYING MORE DATA IF YOU RUN OUT! YOU WILL BE THROTTLED TO 3G NO MATTER HOW MUCH DATA YOU BUY UNTIL YOUR NEXT MONTH CYCLE! IT COST ME $25 TO LEARN THAT LESSON! DON'T DO IT!!! ❌⛔👎🏾🙅🏾♂️

By the 5th of the month, browsers fail to load. It's a horrible service. Since it's a Federal program, report them to the FCC.

What went wrong is, they want between 40 and 80 dollars for these old and outdated government phones.
