My family had a great time, made memories we will never forget. Thank you American Dream Vacations, for renting me the Travel Trailer that made it all possible.

We rented a 25 foot Vegas class A motor home for two weeks, and drove it from San Antonio Texas to Moab, Utah and return. This was a round trip of about 2,400 miles. It was a lot of fun, and quite an adventure. We did have maintenance issues with the vehicle, but American Dream (ADV) was very informative and easy to work with. Some things we had repaired on the trip, with other things left for them to repair upon return. I had read a few reviews about ADV being unresponsive and not helpful, but that was not our experience. The key seems to be, before calling the customer service line, have a thorough understanding of the problem, and how you are going to explain it. Yes, it did squash a full afternoon that we would have rather have done vacation things then coordinate and work through repairs, but that would have been the case whether our unit was a rental or owned by us. Stuff happens. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star review was the unit itself was a bit worn out. Although it was built in 2016, it already had 70,000 + miles on it. Nothing wrong with that alone, but the steering was loose, and pulled the the right. We had test driven this very vehicle a couple of months earlier, and I pointed this out when I turned it in, but nothing had changed. It may have been too hard to deal with, but had it not had that pulling tendency, the many miles would have been far easier to drive. The check out and check in were easy, and we would highly recommend that everyone review the videos before leaving the lot. The walk around we did before departure was good, but it would have been insufficient without also view the videos. Overall a very good experience, and we are looking forward to doing this again, with ADV.

Mr. McClure, I want to thank you for such a thorough review. It not only shows our strengths but gives me good feedback to address internally. Your optimism and satisfaction are evident. Your reasoning is sound. I appreciate your cooperation on the road and apologize that you had any issues at all. We look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you for your business.

I was ripped off and charged $500 for a small hole in the door to the generator where I had hit the corner of a picnic table. The door was made of Styrofoam and chicken wire. It was a small door. They said they would get back to me for the repair cost. They never did. I called and they said they had to "manufacture" a new door and the cost was $500! I happened to be in Albuquerque a couple of months later and drove past the yard one evening. Parked next to fence was the RV in question. The generator door still had the hole. It was never repaired. They simply blew it off and kept my money.

I apologize that you had a bad experience with the damage resolution part of your experience. Unlike regular automobiles, not all body shops are capable of repairing RVs. Having said that, repair costs can often be more expensive than expected. Luckily there are check and balances available. If you feel that this is an excessive cost, I encourage you to file a claim with your auto insurance. Insurance companies send out adjusters to ensure that our pricing is fair and reasonable. Additionally, it is not uncommon for manufacturer specific items, even compartment doors, to become obsolete as product is updated or simply no longer available. As to the timing of the repair, I can assure you that this too will be completed. Everything we rent out is individually owned. We are under contract with the vehicle owner and obligated to repair their vehicle. The damages while collected for are not always completed during the first available time frame. Typically, body repairs are limited to the off-eason and even then prioritized based on a few things. Generally the prioritization of repairs is as follows. 1. Debilitated vehicles that cannot rent 2. Vehicles no longer being rented - removal from rental 3. $15,000 + jobs 4. Cosmetic The damage that you caused, in the scheme of things was relatively inexpensive and would easily be considered level 4 priority. I invite you to discuss this further if you have any concerns. If you would like, we can assist you with an insurance claim. Your business is much appreciated and the vehicle owner will be happy when we repair his vehicle back to its original state.

Fantastic RV rental!! This was our first RV renting experience and it was fantastic. The RV was clean and everything was as advertised. Tony and Sue answered all of our questions with speed and excellence. We plan to repeat this family trip every year!

We rented an RV for the first time and American Dream Vacations started out to be very helpful. Unfortunately their customer service went down hill quickly. The RV was to be set up with AC on, tanks empty and everything hooked up. We arrived about noon, in the middle of July, in San Antonio, so it was hot outside. Upon entering the RV it was even hotter. I tried to adjust the AC with no luck, so I called customer service. While I was on hold with them I discovered the thermostat was set on heat not AC. It took all afternoon and night to cool it down which was a little excessive because the RV was very small. Aside from the heater being on, the vent above the toilet was broken out and covered with a torn trash bag, which of course made harder to cool. I paid an extra $45 for the RV to be cleaned because they pride themselves on it being clean and ready to go. My daughters feet were covered in dirt almost immediately from walking on the filthy floors. When we started taking showers that night, water started running out from under the wall into the main living area. I had to use sheets to soak the water up. Both the gray water and black water tanks were full after 1 shower and very little time spent in the RV. They had not been emptied from the previous user. The next morning we had somebody pump out both tanks and had to pay for it ourselves. We tried to use the oven to cook breakfast and there were pieces missing, so the gas was not hooked up which left the oven unusable. We called customer service several times about all of these issues and were told we shouldn't run the air below 75 because it would freeze up, they were going to try to send somebody out to look at the other issues. They never sent anyone out in the 3 days we were there. The last time we called we were told to fill out the customer complaint form so they could take a look at the trailer to assess the problems and refund some of our money. We talked to them multiple time weeks after the rental with no luck. They said their people looked at all the problems and did not find any issues. Per the contract that we signed the only thing they would refund were drive train problems (this is a trailer, there is no drive train!). Not only would I not recommend American Dream Vacations, they should not be in business period!

I understand the frustration with an air conditioner not cooling as desired. In the Texas heat the air conditioners make the vehicle much more comfortable, but these units are working very hard to do this. Under perfect conditions, the A/C can bring interior temperatures down to about 20 degrees cooler than outside temperatures. Of course, there are several variables that affect the end result. Following the return of the vehicle and after inspection of the various systems, we found no problem with the functionality of the air conditioner or oven. Although I am not denying that you experienced problems with these components, we have since been unable to replicate the issue. Before each RV leaves, it undergoes a thorough inspection. Part of this inspection includes emptying the waste tanks. Even with minimal usage, it would not be abnormal for the gray tank to fill up in one day. While emptying the waste tanks is expected when using an RV, you should not have to empty waste from a prior usage. I can assure you that this along with the missing roof vent will be brought to the attention of the appropriate department so as to avoid this type of oversight in the future. If a receipt for the tank service is provided, reimbursement will be considered. This sounds as though we provided subpar quality service. I can assure you that not only is this not the norm, but has already been brought to the attention of the appropriate departments. Compensation was offered although I understand you were turned off from your first experience. If there is anymore that we can do, please let us know because we would love to have the opportunity to make you a believer, showing you why we have successfully been in business for 22 years making thousands of happy campers.
