been flying AS since the 80s
been flying AS since the 80s. service has really dropped off. bumped from my fully paid FC seat recently, with a small voucher as compensation. not good enough fellas. as I'm hearing, this has become much much more common over the last few years. I've been a loyal AS for decades, but that will change. I'll use my points and move on. not paying good money for lousy service, and no acknowledgement of said lousy service. you've been warned... again

They are receiving a one star because I…
They are receiving a one star because I can't leave no stars. They changed our flight times four times in an hour. The first change was over and hour and half later. There is no true reason for the delay. When asked their employees give vacant expressions and then talk in circles. Thank you flight 1320 from San Francisco

flight SEATTLE - ROME
On the 22nd of August, I've caught a flight from Seattle To Rome.
They damaged my baggage (American Tourister L size, brand new current value approx 140USD).
We filed the complain form inside the airport, and been told to check approx. 15 days later with the company, by contacting them and identifying themselves using the file record number they gave.
So, they broke my luggage, I have to contact them (UTC-10 time, from Italy). Just this, as as a first example of seriousness of the Company.
After my phone call, followed by an email with all the info required, including extensive photographic documentation of the damage (couldn't they give me directly this address, instead of let me wait for 15 days, in which nobody did nothing and not care at all?) they claimed their Company is not responsible for the protruding parts of the luggage, therefore it's not their reponsibility (pity my luggage, brand new before the trip, can't be used because loading it, they broke the zipper sliders and it won't close anymore!).
As a gesture of goodwill (!!!) they offer a 50USD voucher if I am to book with them another flight, on year from the date of our email.
Told them to keep it, I won't fly with them ever again.
Very bad service and very poor reliability.

Alaska Airlines should be ashamed!!
Alaska Airlines should be ashamed of choosing Bank of America as its credit-card partner.
Bank of America currently has a 1.4 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot, with an overwhelming number of one-star reviews. That should tell Alaska Airlines something about the company it has chosen to represent its brand and handle its customers’ Alaska credit-card accounts.
My own experience has been exactly what that rating suggests. Bank of America forced a replacement card and account number on me over alleged suspicious activity. Then my bank sent a legitimate $3,000 payment to the former account number...and the payment never appeared on my account.
What followed was worse: an automated phone system that repeats information I can already see online, no meaningful route to a live person, a chat that quickly gave me a phone number and ended the conversation, and repeated 15-minute waits with no resolution.
Alaska Airlines cannot wash its hands of this. It made the decision to tie its loyalty program and its customers to Bank of America. When its chosen financial partner makes it nearly impossible for a customer to resolve a missing $3,000 payment, that reflects directly on Alaska’s judgment and on how much it values the people loyal to its brand.
I expect Alaska to choose partners that treat its customers with competence and basic respect. Bank of America clearly does not. Alaska should be embarrassed by this partnership and should seriously reconsider it.

Booking.com + QANTAS–ALASKA & HAWAIIAN AIRLINES Partners: A Masterclass in Passing the Buck
Our experience with Qantas, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Booking.com was nothing short of a nightmare.
In June 2026, we missed our flight after Qantas issued me a boarding pass containing an error, despite the fact that I had presented my passport at the counter. A mistake at the airline counter left us dealing with the consequences — and, unfortunately, the situation only got worse from there.
Because we urgently needed assistance, we contacted Booking.com on the day. Rather than helping us resolve the problem, we were simply directed to contact Alaska Airlines ourselves. When you are already dealing with a disrupted international itinerary, being told to chase another company is hardly what you expect from a booking platform.
We then spent **approximately SIX HOURS** trying to reach Alaska Airlines via SMS, online chat and phone. Despite the urgency of the situation, we received no timely assistance that actually resolved the problem.
Eventually, we had no choice but to purchase replacement tickets with another airline **at our own expense** just to continue our journey.
And what happened afterwards was arguably even more frustrating.
Since then, I have repeatedly sought compensation for the 1600 AUD **out-of-pocket expenses we incurred**. Instead of taking responsibility and resolving the matter, we have been left dealing with different companies and effectively being passed from one to another.
This experience has taught us a very expensive lesson: when an itinerary involves multiple "partner" airlines, the passenger can apparently end up being the one responsible for sorting out the mess when something goes wrong.
We paid for a service. When that service failed, we expected assistance and accountability. Instead, we spent hours trying to get help, paid additional money out of our own pocket, and are still seeking a satisfactory resolution.
**Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking a complex multi-airline itinerary through Booking.com.** And if you do, be prepared for the possibility that when something goes wrong, you may find yourself on your own.
For us, this was not simply an inconvenience. It resulted in **lost time, significant frustration and additional expenses**, followed by a deeply disappointing lack of accountability.
That is not the level of service or accountability we expected.

Flying out of Heathrow to Seattle with…
Flying out of Heathrow to Seattle with a family we hit a probl;em with esta docs not coming through in time for two of our party.
Check in staff were very understanding holding to the very last minute when the flight closed to see is the docs came through. (They did five minutes later!)
We were on the basic economy pricing, no refunds, no transfers etc however Alaska booked those who missed the flight on to the next available one.
Great customer service.
