Groundskeeper pro is an awesome program. I really can't imagine a better way to run my business.
Adkad customer service is excellent as well. I constantly recommend their software to other business owners.

Hello Rick, There is never a charge for any support call that is reporting a bug in any of our software products. It would be unthinkable and a really dumb move on our part if we did. It would be like charging a fireman for the water he used to put out a fire in your house. If you were charged for a support call, and it turned out to be a bug, give us a call and we'll refund your money.

Great software and tech support.
I've had to call tech support a couple of times and each time they went out of their way to help me.

Thanks, Rick for the great review. It's never out of our way to help. It's straight down the path to customer satisfaction.

Software is easy to use, but lacking in some areas
While the software is easy to use, some of the features are not on par with similar invoicing/billing programs. For instance, there is no balance forward in the body of the statement. Though there is information in the top right of the statement; most customers are confused each month by the charges and payments in the body of the invoice/statement. Also, the scheduling feature is quite time consuming and not easy to use at all. For a simple business, this is good software; I am not certain this will be longstanding software for a growing business.

Hi Dorothy, thanks for your feedback. Our Invoice design is pretty basic and is divided into 3 parts. Summary, Activity, and return payment stub. There is really no world standard on invoice design. If you changed billing systems I could see how your customers could be confused if something that was on the top is now on the bottom. But the most important part of the invoice is the balance due which is highlighted with a larger red font on part 1 and part 3. Kinda hard to miss. Most of our customers love our invoice design because it is so simple and basic, but you are entitled to your own opinion. We are planning on making changes to the Scheduling Screen to speed up and streamline how it works. If you are using the scheduling for simple services like mowing, try using multiple routes instead. It eliminates the need to reschedule due to rain or other unforeseen circumstances.

It mostly does what I need for it to do.
First off, I wish that this program did more with account receivable management. It would be nice to have an aging (30, 60, 90 day past due) feature available. It is very difficult to see who has not paid their invoice in a timely manner. We need to know who to stop servicing once they are past due and I have not found an easy way to discern this information.
Secondly, I feel duped into having to accept credit card payments for all my customers costing me almost 3% loss in gross income. And when you raise your prices to compensate for the 3%, then the customer is unhappy. I was not aware that it was not an All or Nothing scenario. I didn't really want to offer it to everybody, just a select few. So that is why I enrolled into the credit card processing system. I wish that where would be a way to manually decide who's invoice has the how to pay with credit card info on it. It should be easy to do. But Adkad is probably getting 1/4 of a percent of all the transactions processed (ie a kickback), so I do not expect that option to be available any time soon.
I will be searching for a new billing software provider during the off season.

Wow, Eric, You got it all wrong. Accepting credit cards is 110% voluntary. If you didn't want to pay the credit card processing fees, why did you sign up for a merchant account? You can close the account at any time and it will not cost you a dime. I don't know why you feel duped. Any business expert will tell you accepting credit cards and electronic payments is a smart business move, but no one here, or at Fortis Pay has forced or coerced you into making that move. The rates we have negotiated 2.89% +$.30/transaction are the lowest in the industry and we proudly display these rates. There are no other hidden fees. We're proud of that.
The 30, 60,90 aging. This refers to accrual basis accounting. Our software uses Cash basis accounting which is much more flexible and easier to use and learn. Most small businesses prefer and use cash basis accounting, mainly due to the ease of editing the data.

Sorry Eric, but you are wrong about the option to select which customers get the CC payment link. When you click the Email and Print button, an option box appears where you can uncheck the "Include Pay Link" option. Disabling the link will eliminate the payment link in the email footer, and or, on the printed invoice. This will leave your customer with a check, or cash only option of payment. We are adding integrated ACH payments in the soon to be released series 8 software which will cost less than 1% which will help your bottom line. We have also added new features to the Current Balances screen which will now show Last Payment Date and Days Since Last Payment. This new feature should help you determine which customers to stop servicing if the current, (Determine Late Paying Customers feature), is not working for you. In the interest of full disclosure here, yes, we do get a kick-back. It is actually about 1/4 of 1/4 of a percent, (.000282 to be precise or 2.8 cents per $100). We need to pay support staff and keep the lights on, and every little bit helps. We have been around for over 20 years, and I hope you would want us to continue to survive to service the thousands of businesses like yours. I hope this new information will sway your decision to not jump ship, and change the 1-star rating you gave us to a higher number. In any event, the best of luck, and we wish you and your business prosperity for years to come.

The truth
.Technical service was not very good help and is always costly.any future tech service would be a cost.you asked for my review i did not contract you about a review. I tried your product its not for me Thank you.
Response from Adkad TechnologiesNov 2, 2019
Hi James, The majority of our customers feel our support options are more than reasonable. As the majority of our customers pay nothing for support. You purchased GroundsKeeper on 3/23/18 Called us for a refund on 3/26/18 at which point a technician spent 56 minutes going over some operational questions you had, to which at the end of the call you said you may want to keep the software. Then on 3/30/18, you called asking for a refund. A full refund was given to you and during this entire period, you did not pay a single dime for support. Sorry, our software wasn't your cup of tea. I only hope the reason you left was that our software did not suit your needs, and not because there was some misunderstanding about your support options.
Best of luck to you, and your business.

Very satisfied customer.
I have a small lawn and snow removal business. I have used this program for several years and it has worked very well for me. I have looked at other programs over the years and haven’t found one that’s any better or easier to use. I keep a windows base tablet in my truck and using the back up and restore feature I always have all of my customers information with me including my billing information in case one of my customers Has a question while I’m at their property. I don’t have to tell him I will call you back later to answer your question.
