In my experience
In my experience, AdaptHealth exemplifies everything wrong with the American medical system. My initial consultation with a knowledgeable US-based representative was very pleasant, but as soon as I left their office with my CPAP machine, I had to deal exclusively with heavily-accented overseas call center employees. They instructed me to send my machine's memory card to random addresses unaffiliated with my doctor to ensure compliance, contrary to previously-received instructions to bring it to my doctor and have her ensure compliance. All this was irrelevant to me anyway, since my insurance wasn't going to cover anything, but AdaptHealth's representatives were insistent. I sent AdaptHealth my memory card once, and completed a follow up appointment with my doctor, who reviewed the results of 90 days of CPAP usage data and told me the results looked good. After enduring weekly to bi-weekly calls from AdaptHealth pressuring me to reorder supplies. I checked out an online supply reorder form that they emailed me. It did not provide any information about the price of what I would be ordering, so I opted to order through a third party with transparent pricing, hoping my involvement with AdaptHealth would be ending. A few months later, I received a vaguely threatening yet confusing letter, informing me of non-compliance (despite my 90-day doctor's appointment) and stating that the credit card I had on file would be charged if I didn't remedy the situation. I opened up a web browser and navigated to the web link provided in the letter, but the link was broken and would not load on any of my browsers. I then reluctantly called the customer service line. After the customer service representative was unable to adequately explain the situation to me, I elected to return my machine to them and cease CPAP therapy. In conclusion, I may have a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, but apparently I'm too stupid to navigate the process of using a CPAP machine. In the end, I'd rather deal with the consequences of untreated sleep apnea than even think about AdaptHealth again, and that might be the healthier choice, because the latter has induced a higher increase in my blood pressure than the former ever did.
