Regarding the delay in receiving…
Regarding the delay in receiving necessary equipment to BREATHE, I don't know if it's my mother's pulmonoligist's fault or Adapt to be honest. Impossible to get answers from anyone about delivery and set up of the Life2000 ventilator recommended by the docotor almost one month ago. Everytime we call Adapt it's a different story- waiting on docs from doctor (doctor says they have confirmation everything was faxed), waiting on approval from insurance (that was a lie- we know it was approved), now it's not available and they want to bring her a temporary machine that is not mobile- useless--- the whole point is to help with mobility. We were told 5 days ago the new equipment was ready and just waiting on clinician to set up delivery and session on operation. Not true... not sure if they have too many hands in the pot, or none. I get definitive answers one day, and completely different answers the next. Nothing makes sense. This is all through insurance and the doctor's office should be handing this- but had we not called Adapt directly, no one would have told us there was an issue. What is the issue? - your guess is as good as ours- it's changed several times since the unit was approved. By the way- my mom is already being charged her copay! Not once has Adapt returned a call to follow up as they always promise- so, I shall continue to call I suppose. I mean it's not a huge deal, just breathing right? … Now let’s fast forward to this week. My mother ended up in the hospital. In order to release her they wanted her to have a Rollator walker along with a humidifier that goes on her oxygen concentrator. Saturday she was ready to be discharged from the hospital pending delivery of those items to my mom’s hospital room. We waited until 11 PM. They did not show nor did they call the hospital. They claimed that there was an issue with the documentation which we found out was not true. They said it would be delivered on Sunday -Monday the latest - to my mom’s home. S0, needless to say we left the hospital. Otherwise the hospital was required to hook my mother back up to all of the equipment, IV, heart, monitor, etc… so luckily the hospital was nice enough to give her a loaner walker. Sunday was a no show from Adapt - so we just called them to verify timing for today…and it is not coming yet again today. They are shortstaffed apparently and cannot deliver it until tomorrow. Had I not called them, would they have ever called? They’re a mess!
