I tried to return an item at my local Ace hardware in Ortonville Michigan and the fact that I bought it at a different Ace they would not return it. The manager came to the register and said they did not stock that item and would not take it back. Now I have to drive 30 minutes to return the item. Ace claims to be your local neighbor hardware but I would rather drive 25 minutes to Home Depot for ANYTHING than to ever make another purchase at this place two blocks away.

4 days ago I ordered shelving and after paying with my CCRD, saw the charge in my bank account. Then 2 days later I get an e-mail from Ace telling me my order has been cancelled…..no reason, just cancelled. I went into diff sections for more info but still see nothing. I called and found out they were out of stock, yet still charged my CCRD and haven’t credited my acct yet. I was told the credit would come back 7-10 business days. Why did the purchase go thru if they were out of stock?!?! Why didn’t they clearly tell me why it was cancelled?!? Horrible customer service!!!

I bought things at one ace but tried to return it at another. I was told no by the store owner and corporate told me I have to go back to the original store an hour and a half away. Home depot and Lowes forgive me for straying...

Do not trust Ace Hardware's website. It will tell you that an item is in stock, when it is not. Drove 20 minutes to pick up a product showing in stock and available for pick up today, only to find out that the item was not in stock. Been an Ace customer for years, love that they are locally owned. At this point not sure if I will continue. They need to get their website fixed to stop inconveniencing their customers.

My husband and I Went to ace hardware in Aston Pa tonight . We needed paint (Martha Stewart) to touch up holes from a curtain rod that had been discontinued. Home Depot made our paint it was suppose to be the color of choc milk put the paint on wall it was dark grey. Awful . I explained about the paint and The two gentlemen at Ace that made the paint took so much time on the pc to make sure the color was exact. We got home we touched up the wall it is perfect ! I wish I would of asked their names! Thank you so much for all the time you took with us! I will call the store tomorrow to make sure their boss knows what a great job they did ! You guys saved us from painting thyme entire room .

I had bought some blank key fobs online to replace mine that had worn out cracked case. they came blank and needed to be cut. Zanocco Ace in Rockford, IL said they wouldn't cut them because I didn't get them from there. "They don't know what kind of metals are in them, and they could tear up the cutting wheel on the machine" was the excuse I received. I am a machinist and that is one of the biggest BS excuses I have heard. Keys are a soft metal and the wheel should be made of carbide. One of the toughest materials manufactured. So either they have a cheap generic wheel made out of steel or it's just a market scheme to get you to buy their over marked up fobs which are probably around $70-80 a piece. Buyer beware, if there is some truth to this, then I would guess that their keys are of an even softer metal yet. Which will probably end up breaking off in a lock or ignition.

I Bought a gallon of deck stain, color was added in store. Put it on its side in my vehicle and the whole gallon leaked out into my vehicle. The lid was not sealed correctly or it would of leaked out. When I went back to the store, the manager couldn't of cared less and even band me from the store for being upset that he didn't care or replace item. Steve

Wanted to purchase Craftsman brand power tools. I had an account but had moved to a new city and my account was linked to an email I no longer could access. Because I couldn't access old email my account couldn't be retrieved. Not a big deal, I'm OK with creating a new account, but because my phone matched the old account the website instructed me to check my previous email (not possible) or call customer service (CS). I called CS and the agent would not listen ... instructed me to re-complete the new account application which I did and received the same ACE message to check my old email or call CS ... CS was on the phone and had me RE-COMPLETE the application multiple times and CONTINUED TO TALK OVER ME AND NOT LISTEN. I gave up and will purchase from another distributor.
