I opened a cc with comenity bank last year for a Ashley Stewart cc. As soon as I got the card used it this company was micromanaging my credit score. They reduced my$250 credit limit to $180 which shot my utilization score through the roof after that. I finally filed a dispute with the credit company to fix it they updated an I then find out that they took my credit limit to$100, called an they informed me once again they looked into my credit again so that was the reason for the decrease. First of all my credit wasn't that bad when I got the card, it was then who shot my credit to hell in the first place with their lies. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT GET A CC WITH THIS COMPANY PERIOD! I've read others experiences with this company an they the worst company to try an build your credit with. I wouldn't give them a star period for they are not worth it the time.

This bank is in the 1950's !!
This bank is in the 1950's !!! The police need to step in here. By law they need to keep and make accessible 5 years of past history. They actually ask you to WRITE IN BY MAIL and request a maximum of 3 statements - that are actually not available anywhere on their website !!!!

What a nightmare!
I'm just writing this to let you know what an awful experience it was to have a Comenity card. No one ever said, at any point when I was signing up for this card, that I could only make payments for this card with a bank account. I don't have a bank account and never will. I do however have a debit card, but that wasn't good enough for Comenity. They will not accept my debit card online, and to make payments on the phone, it's a $10 charge. So they made me drive over an hour away to the nearest Hot Topic to make the payments in person, and even still would not accept my debit card, and I had to go find an ATM in the mall and get cash out, every single month. But I did it, for years because I always make payments on time and for twice the minimum due. So then when I got sick and was in the hospital a few days, I couldn't go through all the hoops and bs they required of me to make a payment, so I tried to make the payment on the phone for 4 days, but they were not open. Then when they were open it was the next morning after the payment was due, and I explained to the customer service person my situation, and he told me he would not wave any fees or do anything to help me and I "should call back next month." So I called back the next month to see what we could do about the $40 late fee and the customer service person refused to help me and then said it would be another $10 to pay the late fee over the phone. Note that I had a $0 balance on my card and it was paid off. I paid their stupid little charges and I cancelled my card and will not ever have another one with Comenity as long as I live, because of the heartless way they treated me, when I just needed some compassion. Please do not ever get a card from Comenity, because they are setting you up for failure from the start, and when they see you struggle, they prey on you.

Terrible policies
They'll hit you with late fees if you're even a day late -- no grace period for COVID. To boot, when I was only one day late they lowered my credit limit after being a customer for years. Apparently they also ran my credit score as well, even though I'm an existing customer? I'd been trying very hard to stay on top of things despite COVID-19, so my score had actually gone up the last two months. Now it's going to take a hit.
I'm guessing that the company is not doing as well due to COVID-19, but the fact they're taking it out on people who are probably under financial stress is amazing. They've been sending everyone automated voicemails about how they'll work with customers, but they don't have any way to access those resources online -- it's just a questionnaire and then they direct people to call their phone #. Which, of course, means people are waiting on the phone for hours.

This is the worst
This is the worst, most fraudulent bank. Do NOT ever do business with them. I will make it my life's work to make sure no one ever uses them that I meet.

Don't call the customer service line…
Don't call the customer service line they obviously don't know what they're doing!! I've had a card with them for awhile, they sent me a new card (which I didn't request). I never activated the new card. The card was misplaced (my 3 year old got ahold of it) which was fine being I never activated it. So I call the customer service line to have them send me their "new cards". I told the lady on the phone that the card they just sent me was misplaced and that I had my original card and I would use that one. She asked if the card was lost or stolen, I told her no it is somewhere in the house I just can't find it. She said she would send me another card, and I asked her if my original card would still work to make purchases. She told me yes it should work just fine being you never activated the card we just sent you in the mail . I go to the store, spend time shopping, then go to use my card, my original card, the one she just said would work just fine, and it was declined!!! I called customer service again and asked them what the hell was going on and they told me she canceled my cards and reported them lost or stolen even though I told her it was misplaced in my house somewhere and I just need a new one sent. And now I can't do Christmas shopping because my account was canceled when it shouldn't have been and I have to wait 2 weeks to get this "new card". There's no way for them to uncancel my original card even when I never asked for it to be canceled in the first place. Worst bank ever!!! I would give 0 stars if possible!!!!!
