This company is very shady, disingenuous, and lacks basic competency. They denied my credit application citing "Potential Fraudulent Activity" but couldn't provide any explanation or clarification when questioned. Instead, I was simply told the decision was final and to reapply in 30 days. Their lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability is completely unacceptable. I would strongly caution others against doing business with them.

First
First, Sportsman sold me on getting a card to save on my $2.5k worth of purchases but they could not figure out how to run it on the card. They cancelled and ran on my Chase card. Approximately 30 days later i get a statement with a $29 balance and a let fee. They continue to add late fees for the account after I went ahead and paid the $29 which should not have been on the card at all. I also attempted to do the right thing and go above and beyond and paid another $26. They barely speak English and are very rude in trying to explain to me why I should keep giving them money for late fees that are not my fault. Run from this company as fast as you can. They are con artist with foreign customer service people.

Comenity Bank Accepts Blatant, "Copy-and-Paste" Forged Signatures
I filed a formal fraud dispute with Comenity Bank a.k.a. Bread Financial, and their "investigation" process is a total joke. They are actively trying to collect on a debt based on completely forged signatures, and they didn't even perform a basic visual check. You can see my signature comparison clearly spells out my actual name, whereas the forged delivery contract is signed 'Ryan' which is not my name...
While delivering furniture to my home, Raymour & Flannigan delivery personnel severely gouged and damaged my floors. To cover their tracks and escape liability, they finalized the delivery contracts using forged signatures that waive them of property damages.
Here is how incredibly lazy Comenity Bank’s fraud compliance is: The signature on both contracts is a blatant "copy-and-paste" duplicate. If you zoom in, the signatures are a pixel-by-pixel match—the exact same digital ink, angle, and stroke pattern. They are entirely identical, which is physically impossible for a human to write naturally twice in a row.
Despite an active federal investigation via the CFPB, Comenity immediately reported a massive balance increase to my credit files at Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. They weaponized my credit score to force me to pay for a fraudulent transaction while they take a 60-day "extension" to look into the matter.
Do not trust this bank. They do not review fraud documentation, they accept obvious digital copy-and-paste forgeries, and they punish victims instead of investigating criminals.

Terrible!!
Terrible!!! Was with them for years with a credit card from a clothing online store. Never sent me a late payment notice until they said I was 30days late!!!! Reported to the credit and my excellent credit rating dropped 82 points!!!! I was never late! When I check the account it said no payment due! Then they had the nerve to cancel my account without ever notifying me!! I would have never known if I didn’t go to cancel it!!

This is who handles Kay Jewlers…
This is who handles Kay Jewlers accounts.
These people are the biggest rip off artists there are! It doesnt matter if you make your monthly payment on time, because the interest rate is so high you will never pay it off. My monthly payment was $84, the monthly interest was $62, so I was literally only paying $22 towards the balance (which was all interest because I paid the rings off a long time ago) and when I called to make a settlement payment they would only settle for 80% of the balance owed, which again was just interest.
I also reported them for constantly calling and saying I was 2 months behind when I wasnt. They called me 7 times in one day, Saturdays, Sundays, just constant, and you can never understand them because none of them can speak ENGLISH worth a shit.
I will NEVER buy anything from these crooks ever again.

Those are crooks. “Pre-approved” offer led to hard inquiry and denial based on mysterious internal score
Those are crooks. Please avoid applying for credit card with them.
The part I find particularly irritating is the “pre-approved” solicitation.
I received a mailed Bread Rewards American Express offer stating that I was pre-approved, including a $200 welcome bonus. I applied through the official Bread/Comenity website.
The result was a hard inquiry on my Experian credit report, followed by absolutely no email, text, or online notification about the application status. More than a week later, I finally received a paper denial letter in the mail.
What makes this especially frustrating is that my Experian credit score was around 800, yet Bread denied the application using a completely different “custom credit score” of 534 on their own 1–999 scale. The letter listed factors such as recent inquiries, number of credit cards, and revolving balances, despite my otherwise excellent credit history.
I understand that “pre-approved” does not legally guarantee approval, but sending a targeted pre-approved solicitation, performing a hard credit pull, providing no timely electronic communication, and then rejecting the application using an opaque proprietary scoring model is a very poor customer experience.
The inquiry also affected my credit score, so I effectively received nothing from this offer except a hard pull and a denial letter.
Based on this experience, I would not apply for another Bread/Comenity product and would not recommend responding to their “pre-approved” mail offers.

Lacking customer support.
Lacking customer support.
Instead of allowing the account holder to give authority to a family member to help them, they insist on a POA being MAILED to them. I appreciate protecting accounts, but in today's world, that is ridiculous. The only information being requested was the original charge being made. I'm sure they would not hesitate to charge a late fee even if you can't get information!
