Horrible bank. They charged me 40$ for 1 day past due. I even didn’t expect it that they will charge me only for 1 day past due. So the total what I overpaid is 200$ JUST FIR NOTHING.My maximum past due was 3 days. In BANK OF AMERICA I never had a problem like this. They usually give 5 days to cover the payment. So I called to Comenity Bank and explained everything but only what I got back is 40$. HORRIBLE and greedy bANK.

nah
screwed myself with them
If you’re going to work on a customer service line, you have to deal with the best and worst customers. If you start raising your voice at a customer, you’ve already lost them. I’ve worked in customer and sales for years so I get that more than anything, but when that “customer” is on the other line reaching out for help explaining their situation and got anxious. You taking it personally and raising your voice at them, is not the way to calm down. You are working with people around the world, different tones, culture. Forgot the name of the lady I spoke with, but very, very rude.

Do not bother with the opening of a new…
Do not bother with the opening of a new Comenity credit card. The bank exercise " take no prisoners attitude" in regards to the late fees and interest charges, especially during Covid-19. If you miss your first and the only time payment, Comenity bank as "a big courtesy" would refund less than a half of the late fee without interest. You need to apply a serious pressure to the customer service to receive a bona fide "courtesy" , like the full refund. Good luck talking them into refunding the interest charge as well ( standard practice in Chase :). Supervisor, Elizabeth, is not interested in making new customers happy.

These guys are crooks...

Pmt: $787.83 11 July 2020 - ONLINE (PAID OFF!) Done, I owe these guys no more moola.
WTH (F was removed by site's request)??? I'm being told 18 July 2020 via email, Saturday, that I still owe them $14.62? Bunch of crooks.
Called their customer support # and the lady there was not willing to remove the $14.62 finance charge,
she said it was due to the fact my card's payment was due on the 10th, and I paid on the 11th. So I asked
her to close my account, which she claimed she did @ 8:49 am.
WTH (F was removed at sites request)????? I checked this card just out of curiosity and found it STILL open, and a balance of $14.62 even though I paid them off on the 18th last month. These guys are crooks. I am going to try one more time to get these guys to close my account. The nasty woman (explicative removed by this site's request) I spoke to on the 18th did not close my account, and they charged me $14 more dollars. This is NOT legal. I used the "customer care" number and by auto-menu closed my account, supposedly.
I am going to attempt to file a complaint against them:
(insert government website here>)
My complaint:
Card: TREK (store) by Comenity Bank.
On 11 July 2020 I made my final payment of $787.83, my balance was effectively zero, then on 18 July I received an email stating that my payment of $14.62 was due. This card is purported as having no fee, so disappointed I attempted on the 18th in the morning at 8:49 am to contact them and have them explain the charge, the lady I spoke with, I believe Nichole, said it was a "finance charge for being late on my last payment" which I was not. I asked her to remove the charge and she was not willing, so I asked her to close my account, she stated that she did.
On 8 Aug 2020 (today) I went back online to verify my account had been closed, it had not, and not only was it NOT closed but it had yet another $14.62 balance that was due on the 10th of Aug, so I attempted to make a payment online to that amount and their system would not let me, it claimed I already had a pending payment for that amount, which I did not understand, I did not set that up.
At this point I was becoming afraid that I had no power over what was going on, so I googled what to do and followed the advice of calling the number on the back of the card, using their automated voice menu system I directed the computer lady to close my account, which it confirmed that it had done, then it proceeded to ask me "Do you want a confirmation letter faxed to you?" and I said no, I want it mailed to me, and the voice says "sorry I'm having trouble understanding you" Their system will NOT send that confirmation letter by email or mail only a fax, I'm sorry, who has fax machines today?
Bottom line, if they manage to get that other $14.62 from me then they owe me $29.24.
This type of treatment should be illegal.
The above narrative was from a personal journal I used to track this card, you will see similar themes from my records as in other reviews. Word of warning, these guys are evil, I wonder how this kind of business can exist in America where there are laws to protect the innocent.

Worst customer care team
Terrible with disputes, they always take the side of the merchant and never the customer. They do not care about their cardholders, it's about staying in business and keeping people in debt. I filed a dispute with them about an incident that occurred 2 months and they sent me a letter stating "we recommend you contacting [name of the merchant] directly to further dispute this transaction." Why contact the merchant if I tried already? They are too lazy to do their jobs and I got approved up to $1000 on my Sephora Visa and $3000 on my Comenity Mastercard and this is how they repay me when I pay my credit card bills on time? Never apply for a credit card through Comenity bank, they are failing miserably.

The worst
The worst! Constantly run credit checks on you and change your limit. No customer service either. It will destroy your credit. People need to start telling Victoria's secret and other companies that they closed their accounts because of commenity. Maybe then the companies will stop using comenity. Got one more card to get paid off and I'm out from them. They need shut down.
