Company is racist. They have terrible service. Customers call in to this company upset everyday. Capitol Lighting treats their customers bad and their employees even worse. Capitol Lighting lacks diversity. They have little to no Black men working for them. Their website is misleading, deceptive, unprofessional and has discontinued products listed for sale.

We canceled our order with another company who sold the same lights, because this site said the items will ship in 2 days. That was 6 weeks ago. Called yesterday, didnt get a call back. Their customer service is horrible. Super frustrating...I'd leave 0 stars if that were possible!

Horrible Customer Experience and Delivery
Absolutely horrible experience with this company. The first light I ordered never arrived, they said it was backordered and kept pushing back the delivery dates. I decided to cancel this and find another light that arrived to my house completely shattered. I spent two days on the phone trying to get a replacement item shipped from their warehouse. I was told by one agent that the replacement was on the way, another agent they would only issue a refund, and another who said the light was now out of stock and that I'd have to find a new light. I ended up having file a dispute with my credit card company to get a refund. Absolutely terrible company, definitely avoid using them for any lighting needs!

I would give zero stars...
I would give zero stars if that were an option. So far I am out $223, have not received my light fixture (ordered nearly a month ago) and customer service does not respond when called or emailed. Order light fixtures from anyone but 1800 lighting, if you actually want to receive your purchase.

My Bad Experience with Capitol Lighting
If I could rate Capitol Lighting a zero I would do so.
I ordered a lamp for an exterior post from Capitol. Their web site stated they had 5 in stock. The tracking link they sent me showed the status of my order as "Awaiting Fulfillment" for a full week. When I called them to get an explanation and ETA, nobody answered the phone, and nobody returned my voice mail. When I sent them an email, it took a week to get a response.
When the lamp arrived ten days after order, the cap of the lamp was visibly damaged. The cap was at the very top of the package, so I removed the cap alone and took a picture of the damage. I did not remove the lamp itself from the box, as I did not want to repack it, in the event the entire unit would need to be returned.
I then sent the damage picture via email to Capitol Lighting, and placed a call within an hour of my email to seek feedback on next steps. This time I reached a human being, who confirmed he had my email and agreed that the cap was damaged. He told me he would look into the availability of a replacement cap from the manufacturer, and that I should unpack the rest of the lamp, inspect it for further damage and report back to him by email what I found. I then opened the lamp and found that it was undamaged. So I sent the Capitol agent an email telling him the lamp was OK, and asking him to tell me if he could get a replacement cap or if I needed to send the entire unit back for replacement.
After receiving no response for a full week, I again called Capitol and was connected to a different agent. I told him what had already transpired. He told me he needed to check with the original agent I had spoken to a week earlier and put me on hold. After a few minutes agent #2 returns and tells me agent #1 has ordered a replacement cap from the manufacturer, and I should receive it in 4-7 days. He could not provide me any tracking information.
I stayed patient and waited a full two weeks before emailing and calling them back again, to report I had received nothing. This time, I got transferred to a voice mail runaround, left a lengthy message outlining my limbo status, and asked for a return call. Nothing happened.
Four days later I got an email from agent #1. This is the agent who had previously told agent #2 he had already ordered a replacement cap. Agent #1 was now reporting in his email that the cap was not available as a separately ordered part. What??
His email also asked me if I wanted to return the entire item for a replacement or for a credit. I replied immediately that I wanted a credit and a prepaid return authorization for the lamp if they wanted it back.
That was a full two weeks ago, and I have not heard anything from Capitol since. Almost two months have passed since my original order. I am still without a workable lamp post.
I will not be doing business with Capitol Lighting again. I don't recommend that you do so either.

While I've ordered from Capitol for…
While I've ordered from Capitol for several years, my most recent experience is making me only give them two stars. Actual delivery dates varied significantly from what they said they would be. That would be ok if they actually returned my phone calls and emails to get an update. While the product they sell is good, and prices are OK (just OK), very poor service is a dealbreaker here. I will not order from them again, which is said given that my past experience was more favorable.

Beware that the product ship/delivery…
Beware that the product ship/delivery dates are deceptive. My order was supposed to arrive within a week, however after placing order, that date was pushed out three weeks. And now that three weeks has past, order has still not shipped. Contacted customer care and they said it would ship within 24 hours. It is now three days later and item has yet to ship.

This is a awful company
This is a awful company. I have tried to contact them repeatedly, emails, phone calls, no response. I made a $600+ purchase August 16, 2020 and do not have lamp. Do not buy from this company.
