Capitol Lighting – 1800lighting.comReviews of 1800lighting.com

DO not use. Order was placed and charged. Received a cancelation email with no subsequent follow up or credit. Called them they cant find the order but I still show a charge and they show the charge. Will not work to resolve. AVOID at all costs.

We ordered 2300.00 worth of outside lights through 1800/Capitol Lighting. Our salesman was Ted Maos...he was excellent, very knowledgable and helpful...we are extremely satisfied with this competent and friendly salesman, an asset to his employer. Ron and Connie Liptak

Worst customer service ever. I called because my order was missing a piece for my lamp, it was not my fault. I called Monday august 10 was supposed to get an email with replacement order and was never sent, I called back August 13 the order was never made. I have still not received an email back. I am expecting family visit on Saturday and ask the agent to get it expedited and they said no it will take one week. Will not buy anything from this company ever again. 1800lighting.com offered a 20% off if I entered cell phone info and e-mail plus my name. I entered all data and e-mail was to be the recipient of the discount code. My e-mail; also listed the orderd items and at the bottom was the button to "place order". The number of items in the cart were different than that which I had requested so called the company. My order was for 5 and they added another making it 6. What's up? Armando said he could correct the number on his end and to refresh the e-mail and it would reflect the updated figure. Unfortunately, the new refreshed version was for only 2 items but he could place the order over the phone. RED FLAGS everywhere here folks. No I said I will not give out any credit card #s and will not be shopping with them. More than these exchanges went on but you get the idea. BEWARE! It's a scam. I've never written a review before...good or bad. This was that bad!

Absolute worst online shopping experience. I've never encountered a ruder or less helpful customer service representative. I wish I'd seen the abundance of horrible reviews before purchasing from this place! Never again!!!!!

I ordered one outdoor light and got no response for two weeks. I finally contacted them via email asking the status of my order and they apologized and said the order must have been missed and they would respond with a shipping confirmation the next day. Three days passed and no confirmation. I logged on and cancelled my order. Not trusting the online system for cancelling, I called and spoke to a representative. I said please cancel my order and he responded "no problem the order will be cancelled". Two days later I get an email notification that the order was being processed! I emailed again and said this order has been cancelled and to NOT ship it; it will be refused. They responded, no problem refuse the delivery and we'll refund the charge as soon as we receive it. This all started April-22 2020 and here it is June-30 and no refund. I have sent five emails asking for my refund and each time I get an email saying we are working on it and other blah, blah, blah. The last email was June-22 that said we will "issue a refund right away". I'm am ready to dispute the charge with my credit card company. BOTTOM LINE! Do not do business with this company. Their prices are higher, the customer service lies, they're incompetent, and not to be trusted. Just look at their other reviews on different sites.

I received a $1,500 light fixture with tarnish on it. I spoke to a customer service rep, Britani and sent her pictures but never got a reply. A few days later I called and spoke to John, who said that the case was still "open". A week later I emailed Britani again to check in, no response again. Several days later I called and spoke to John, he said he would reach out to Britani again. I received an email from her stating there was no tarnish. Don't know why it took 2.5 weeks and repeated attempts to contact her for her to tell me that. I immediately called John back to say I wanted to start a return. Never received a response from him. I ended up speaking with the manufacturer, who tried to make contact with them, and they never received a response either. They saw the same pictures I sent to Britani and stated the tarnish was obvious. The manufacturer was able to exchange the item and expressed frustration and surprise that I was told there was no tarnish and that the both of us never received a response. I will never do business with 1800Lighting, or Capital Lighting, again but would definitely purchase another fixture from the brand.

TERRIBLE COMPANY! AVOID THEM! They sent me a product with a missing piece (a lamp without the transformer so it can be plugged in). They did not respond to emails. It was very difficult to connect with a customer service rep. When I did, she said that this problem happens regularly, it's not 1800 Lighting's fault and she would send me a follow-up email within 3-5 days. No one ever followed up nor responded to my subsequent emails and calls. I stopped payment through my credit card company ... but what a frustrating hassle. AVOID placing orders with them!
