Not quite perfect, still great.
Great Product (Computer Rescue Kit!). I was upgrading my SSD and somehow messed up the cloning process. I may have damaged the drive. I couldn't fix it, so I bought a BCD fix-style program but no luck. I took it the local big box "Squad". They charged $150 and said my hard drive was failing. They did install Win10 in the new drive but wanted me to reinstall all my software.
Rather than pay for new licenses and time and hassle, I bought the Computer Rescue Kit. I got it started, ate dinner, and it was done. Not quite 100% transfer but close enough. Thanks!
When I consider the time and money I would have spent to purchase new licenses, install and configure, this was much cheaper and a whole lot easier.

Didn't work
Didn't work. I purchased the Lite version for almost $100. When my Win 10 laptop crashed I recovered the laptop but could not download anything from the ZInstall backup files. I could "see" the files but could not download them. Technical Support asked me to send a report file - which I have done about 3 times. No reply. No recompense. No explanation. Silence. Thanks for nothing. StorageCraft Shadow Protect back up is reliable.

FullBack Looks Great, but Not Ready for Prime Time -- Don't Waste Your Time
Bought Zinstall FullBack for my wife to use to backup her laptop. She is a professor at The University of Chicago. The intended backup target was her NAS device. Both devices are on the uChicago network, but FullBack couldn't connect to the NAS. It successfully made the directories in the target NAS share, but failed with a "directory inaccessible" failure when trying to do the backup.
Scheduled a tech support session over TeamViewer. The end result of that was being told that their product wasn't designed to be used on a campus network, so I'd either have to use an indirect cloud service (files stored locally first), or an external HDD.
This seems an unreasonable limitation for just about the most expensive backup software on the market. I love the simplicity of the interface -- it would be perfect for busy professors who have no time to try and figure out how to use yet another software package, but unfortunately it seems that this program is not ready for prime time.
Also, the interactions with support were pretty awful. First level guys don't know anything at all about how the package works. You are then required to schedule a TeamViewer session with a tech, days in the future. At that point you get to text chat with someone, but frankly my guy didn't seem to know much either.
I repeatedly asked them to call me directly to expedite things, but they won't talk to anyone on the phone for some reason. If they had called me and talked with me about my intended use we could have figured out that their software wouldn't work on a real network in the first place and I could have gotten another package almost two weeks ago.
In short, this was amateur hour from beginning to end, both the software and support.
EDIT: It turns out that Zinstall tried to have this review removed, claiming that I had never been a customer. Here's part of the email I got from Trustpilot:
"zinstall.com has reported your review because they don't believe you've had a genuine buying or service experience."
Unfortunately for them, I did have proof, and sent my original invoice, my purchase confirmation email, my installation instructions email, and my cancellation notice email to Trustpilot, after which my review was reinstated.
It does not surprise me that Zinstall lied about my customer status. Hopefully others will take heed of their business practices and avoid them.

Products and support team are excellent
i purchased 3 products from this company so far and all have worked as advertised, but the best part of this company's story is the support team. they are diligent in helping new users even when that help is repeated and takes a long time. I recommend the company, their products and their employees

DON’T BUY IT! THEY ARE A LOUSY COMPANY WITH AN “IFFY” PRODUCT AND A CRAPPY ATTITUDE!
First, their instructions can be confusing. My new laptop had a large solid state drive and a HDD, and their transfer choices didn’t explain what to do to put both programs AND data on the SSD. So I got halfway through (about 8 hours) and had to start over. The migration looked good, at first.
I did not migrate WordPress and MAMP... I had just started taking a WordPress class and installed them fresh, but MAMP worked extremely erratically. The server simulator would not reconnect a server, then suddenly it did. I must’ve tried this 200 times, restarted MAMP, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled MAMP several times, everything I could think of, and got it to connect maybe 4-5 times, with no pattern, rhyme or reason. MAMP forum boards had three or four suggested solutions, none of which worked. And I could not get any other WordPress download to install on my new computer. Since I was just learning to use WordPress, imagine the frustration! In the meantime, I also noticed that a few of my programs weren’t working, or weren’t working correctly, or wanted me to pay for them again, but I wanted to get my WordPress working most importantly.
After a week of this, I took it to my computer guy to try to get the server simulators working; I had no idea that Zinstall was causing the problem. He said Zinstall screwed up my 64 bit system, and ended up having to reinstall Windows. He wrote an email explaining what he had to do which I forwarded to them...it had something to do with how Zinstall reacts with 32 bit (on my old computer) versus my new computer’s 64 bit system.
I asked for a refund, they refused...they blamed it on my not asking them for support. But they said I was welcome to use it to migrate another computer, for up to a year. Yeah, right...like I buy new computers every day! And as if I’m going to use their screwed up program to trash another computer!
So I opened a PayPal dispute, PayPal denied the refund because “item is materially similar to the seller's description.” Well, yeah, the seller described it as software, and it was definitely software. Except... it DIDN’T WORK as described. It transferred SOME programs (some of which asked me to purchase them again) and… It also trashed my new computer’s OS, and made large portions of my programs impossible to use.
Fortunately, I live in the same state as their offices, so I will just take them to small claims court.
But...what a HUGE hassle and waste of time! They didn’t just screw up my computer, they screwed my time up real good for a couple of weeks... how many hours a day, how many weeks of troubleshooting… and time is money…not to mention the money I spent for computer repair and software. And they know it, and refuse to fix the situation with a simple, relatively painless refund.
What a crummy company with a crappy attitude…the bottom line is, they know I can’t use their program, and I’ve received no value for my $169, but still they want to make me fight to get it back. Well they’re going to have to fight for it too. Put yourself in my position...imagine arguing with them for a month over $169 and having them tell you you’re full of baloney. Imagine having to spend the same amount to get your computer fixed as you paid them to break it.
At this point, for me, it is as much the principle as it is the money. Look at their stats right here on trust pilot…13% of people have had poor experience with it and/or that they were refused refunds. Another 5% say they’ve had problems with it, or that it was less than “excellent.” That means THERE IS CLOSE TO A 1 IN 5 CHANCE THAT YOU WON’T BE HAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY OR ITS SOFTWARE! PLEASE DON’T PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY! IN MY OPINION, THEY ARE A LOUSY COMPANY WITH AN “IFFY” PRODUCT AND A CRAPPY ATTITUDE!

Thanks
Dear Jamie L. (Zinstall Support Team)
Thanks very much for your very prompt answer and directions. I appreciate the simplicity of process. (Could you migrate that over to companies like Microsoft, Direct TV, and other non- IT type organizations?) How simple, yet how effective. It was a pleasure using your program. Both times, it did what you said it would, and without any problems – and it was exactly in accordance with the User Guide. The best thing I ever did was to download, print and read (several times) the entire Guide! I wish other companies would copy your approach.
Thanks again, and I hope to deal with your company again. I will be exploring your Zinstall Backup and see what all it can do for me.
Sincerely

It worked well and was able to copy my…
It worked well and was able to copy my old Office documents and email folders and files.
Microsoft should take a note of this program and make it available for free.
It was much easier to do transfers on old Windows systems, and Windows 10 is not easy at all for my taste.
At least with Zinsstall I was able to get my Office and documents over, which definitely brightened my day.
Thank you.

Very happy
I purchased the Zinstall Kit for a new computer transfer.
The process was completed and I have been working with my new computer and my first new Windows version in seven years or more.
I am amazed at how many of the programs transferred over and work! (Seven years ago, with a new machine when I migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7, I used a Win 7 migration program which was good but didn't really transfer programs and it took dozens of hours to get all my programs installed and working on the new computer with Win 7.)
My main problems now, which may continue for a little while, ALL revolve around the new operating system (Win 10), but they I hope can all be overcome. EVERYTHIHG that Zinstall promised basically came true, despite bumps and unexpected obstacles which the Zinstall program and staff handled flawlessly and efficiently.
Again, I am very happy, and thank you all very much.
