The program I use to run my small business didn't transfer successfully. My attempts to contact their support were met with dead silence. I had a brief contact with someone on chat who told me to email support. I emailed them a few times but got no response. They're not there for you when needed.

I used zintall to move from an older Windows 11 PC to a new one. I was able to move some of my Outlook settings correctly. It completely messed up my file system, thinking everything was on OneDrive (that I do not use for backup). Many contacts with Microsoft went nowhere. All the library settings were not correct. Many of my Windows settings were not correct. The fix lost data.

I transferred an old surface pro to a new one and did it manually. Took a couple hours, but all worked out well. Used ZInstall for my desktop - slow. Took longer than the manual download and install, and did not transfer any of the activation/license info. Missed many applications and had to go install them myself anyway. Was $129 (so $200 CDN plus tax) and was really pretty well a complete waste of money. Had more aggravations and time spent doing things right than the manual transfer I did on my own.

While the process was simple and easy for the user, Zinstall did not transfer all applications and broke the search functionality in Outlook (a huge problem). Did not transfer MS Project, Gsynci, ShareX, Outlook add-ins. Customer support was poor. They insisted it transfers everything, despite my documented experience. They also have no logs to show what transfers. Would have been much faster, and much less costly, if I had migrated manually.

I purchased Zinstall WinWin software on 1/1/2025. I transferred from a Dell Windows 10 to a new Dell Windows 11. All of my programs and files transferred with the exception of my e-mail/contacts, internet bookmarks and passwords (which is the most important to me). I contacted support and followed the reports they wanted me to send to them. Silence ever since. It is now 8 days later and no response. With the help of my internet provider and my youtube video watching, I was able to fix this myself. No customer service what so ever. I am going to dispute this charge and lets see how quick they contact me then. I have all of my e-mails stating that I asked for help.

Zinstall seemed fairly easy per sales pitch, but I wanted to leave some files out of the transfer due to space limitations, and I ran into problems. At first, the problems had to be due to not shutting down security options, so I wrote support. They agreed and kindly send me the upgraded version for free cause I’d tried to shut everything down. That ran into other problems. Now I’m trying one last time and it’s been looping on the “validating” step at 99% for several hours. I’ve been using and moving laptop data since the mid 1980s. Why does everyone keep creating more difficult programs under the guise of ‘improving’ them? Two stars was due to their nice Support, but after the initial problem, they just kept giving me the same solution which was irrelevant at that point. Programming keeps getting worse each decade. The biggest companies are some of the worst. At least back in the 80s we had manuals with the software that was written with programmers. Now they have “support” sites where the only help is from other customers. Considering how wealthy these companies are, you’d think they’d care more about customer service. They don’t.

I was able to transfer my files, but I am having issues due to the refurbished laptop I transferred my files to not working. I have tried to contact Zinstall to find out whether I can reuse the transfer purchase on a different laptop if I can document that the first one was defective (unknown to me at the time), but they aren't responding to my chats or emails. I tried calling their customer service and after a brief hold the message says "for faster service, email us at ..." Also I had questions during the transfer and was unable to reach customer service by phone then either. The software works, but they are obviously not able to handle their customer's needs when we have questions (and who doesn't have questions when setting up a new computer?) Very disappointing after all the rave reviews this company has received, and after paying them $130.00.

The program works but customer support isn't responsive. I bought the program to transfer a PC to another PC. Tried using this it on a Mac using Parallels to run windows. However, I had to reset my mac a few times to troubleshoot other programs and also ran this a few times. Eventually, the software said I was out of authorizations, I contacted support and then followed up every other day via chat and they kept saying support will fix it. It's now been 8 days and no response. Seems like I'm going to have to rebuy the program or use another program.
